Re: Tolle video

Well I suppose that's where those apparantly enlightened individuals differ from Eckhart. In an interview Eckhart was asked if he ever got angry and he replied that he didn't as that would be arguing with what is. He also refers to aruging been the defense of self. I have met other people that claim...

Re: Cognitive therapy vs Tolle

I disoverd "Feeling Good" some time after Tolle. What I got from "Feeling Good" was to record (in a tabular form) my emotional reactions and thoughts to a situation then determine the truth of the situation (i.e. determine without my predjudiced emotions)and how it should be reacted to accoording to...

Re: Tolle video

The first time I ever met an 'enlightened' person I spent a full day with him and his partner. The first thing that struck me was what a regular guy he was. After a while I noticed he was incredably peacefull, didn't try to impress me, didn't moan about anything, didn't judge things from emotional s...

Movie: "What About Me?"

Just to share with you that I have been introduced to an amazing movie called "What About Me?". Its hard to describe but the moviemakers travelled round the world recording music in a country then playing it in another and having them add to it, then to another country and so on....then mixing this ...

Re: 'The Secret' the Ego at its maddest best?

'The Secret' lies a lot. To give but 2 examples: Some of the alleged quotes by historical people are not recorded as been said by those people anywhere. Several of the interviews with physicists were edited to agree with the the basic theme of the movie. I would say, that in my opinion, the law of a...

Well said Webwander, your message on this yielded a realisation off some recent experiences I was struggling to make sense of.

Re: The Ego and Pain-Body In Regards to Romantic Relationships

BuckeyeBoy, Like you, I've also found little from Eckhart specifically about romantic relationships (I watched and listened to almost all of his talks available) but I did find a teacher who says a lot and was a great help to me and others on the subject by the name of Nick Roach I've was following ...

Re: I'm desperate for imformation, perhaps you can help.

Hi Greg, I'll start by saying I know exactly what you are going through and I dont feel its unique to you or I - in fact I feel that its a step most or all of us go through on 'the spiritual path'. For myself I've been through this more than once (obviously I hadn't faced it fully). But upon really ...

Re: Jesus's Resurrection

For me I'd proabably challenge the whole mindset and take it from a different angle - I'd ask them why they dont believe science's big bang yet they use science's electricity, combustion engine etc etc.

Re: Your mind is the culprit

Hi Narayan, The issue is that the positive and negative thoughts are 2 sides of the same coin. Identification with one means identification with the other. By chasing after positive thoughts we are further strengthening the identification with the mind leading us further from the 'goal' of been free...

Re: Your mind is the culprit

Allthough I liked some of the science in the article I couldnt help but notice some (very important) contradictions. I feel the most important one is: The first thing that one has to remember is that most individuals identify themselves with their mind or thoughts. It does not occur to them that the...

Re: Catherine Ingram - Passionate Presence

A friend bought this book after hearing Catherine Ingram speak in Ireland (she was there the same time as Eckhart) then gave me it to accompany me backpacking across Australasia. It arrived exactly the right time for me. Catherine also studied with Papaji, Gangaji's teacher and therefore has the sam...

I came across this guy when searching for Gangaji on YouTube. I really liked what he had to say (having just met Gangaji myself). Its also nice to see Gangaji's work in prisons having such a profound effect.

Hi Lily, Accepting the situation is a good first step. However, it is my experience that this must be followed by doing whatever action is required to solve the situation - otherwise the discomfort of the situation will continue. If nothing can be done (except continued acceptence) then so be it but...
