Re: Hello!

Welcome to the forum. At one time we had a member here who woke up and now works with those with addictions using the same principles that Tolle speaks of. His name is Scott Kiloby. Scott was also addicted to alcohol, so he is well versed in the issues you are facing, and he's developed a methodolog...

Re: Is it worth telling someone that something they did upset you?

Keep in mind that the other person is most likely acting in an unconscious way or acting from their own pain body. Letting them know you are hurt/offended can begin a cycle of defensiveness between the two of you. Here's a chance for you to let things drop, and instead of repressing your reaction of...

Re: how do I remain present while being with my memories?

Nice post, turiya. That is what I do when I write, and especially when responding to posts on waking up. I go to source consciousness/stillness for a while and then begin to compose. Then if something doesn't quite mesh with my intended outcome or feel right then I get quiet again until I am ready t...

Re: Unbiased observer

Welcome to the community, Unbiased observer. The Observer isn't "created", it is always present as one's true and fundamental essence. Enlightenment/awakening/Observer are one in the same and are revealed as that true and fundamental essence when that which obscures its presence has dropped away. In...

Re: Pain again

Like most people who begin this journey of awakening you will go through many cycles of clarity and peace followed by a return to long-established periods of turmoil, frustration and fear before you begin to abide in/as consciousness. The former are hallmarks of your essential Self/true nature, and ...

Re: Howdy from Fi

Tonight I'm not ruminating over my grief. Instead, I've been spending time with the two wonderful, loving cats who are my companions now. There's a terrific concept in existential psychology called "being with." Right now I am being with these sentient creatures, who are, as in the title of my favo...

Re: Howdy from Fi

Welcome to the forum, Fi. Look around, there is a LOT of stuff here to browse. As for your grief, when it's present allow yourself to feel it completely, but without judgment. Let all judgment and self-recrimination over any perceived "failure" in your life go; it serves no purpose and since you can...

Re: Struggle with husbands change over the years

I don't know why you've come to this forum with this problem. Our primary purpose here is to listen to and advise as best we can in helping others in waking up to their true nature. What you're looking for requires professional counseling for you and husband if he's willing to do that (which I doubt...

Re: Can anyone help me, please?

The thing about ego is that it isn't an actual entity unto itself, it's not something real to begin with. By "real" I mean something that is always present at all times. In fact, all it is is a bundle of thoughts that weave together that give the appearance/impression of a separate self, a separate ...

Re: Can anyone help me, please?

Ego does not "dissolve". Rather, attachment to and identification with it does. Once you see clearly/grok its artificial role it assigns itself as "director" of your life then it fades away until it actually serves some useful purpose in a given circumstance. So, yes, trying to "dissolve" the ego is...

Re: Can anyone help me, please?

Let me just say this: Don't think about trying to figure out if the world is illusory. The truth is you have to live in this world, so go about your business and do what needs to be done in the moment it arises. What you need to see/understand/grok/realize, however, is that the world isn't what you ...
