Re: Getting lost in thought

I am aware of my deep, fearful thoughts and emotions. It's releasing them that seems impossible, like not thinking about the color green.

Re: What does presence feel like?

On one of the rare, spontaneous experiences which came my way, I was standing next to a fig tree ( really ), and without any conscious effort or thought, everything became very still. There was a leaf in front of my face, very close, and I became aware of being one with the leaf. Nothing else matter...

Re: Couple of questions

You can just bet he is! It's the capitalistic way, after all. I still believe the book should have been enough to spread his 'good news'. Not a couple, but millions. After all, it is a best-seller! Had he kept a a reasonable amount for his sustenance, and sold the rest at a very low price so more co...

Re: Couple of questions

I have the same view of most people I know. They seem more comfortable living their personal identities, and have absolutely no need for any sort of change. Indeed, they bristle when I rock their little boats with my endless quest for more...more what? Well, money would be nice, but I guess I want a...

Re: End Depression Now

Depression is . No amount of 'Get over it', make up your mind to be happy', buck up, man' and other- well meaning but useless advice really does any good; actually, it hurts the sufferer even more, because most of us are self-flagellating all the time, anyway. I am 65. I have been depressed for most...

Re: Who Truly Beliieves in Enlightnment? Is it sensationalized?

I'll admit that I am flit around a bit in my reading of similar books. But upon reading 'Stillness speaks' I feel more, well, STILL. no, not blissful, but definitely less agitated mentally, just by saying the title silently. This is a mighty good book to read as a follw up to PON. The signs which po...

Re: 45 minutes to go...

I want to download it, but the only video option is for IPOD. What the hell is that? (I'm 65.) Also, the whole thing is over 1 gig. Please enlighten me! If I download the ipod  version, can it still be viewed on my computer?

Re: Who Truly Beliieves in Enlightnment? Is it sensationalized?

Thank you for the very calm response. Believe it or not, I felt a softness and a sense of deep love and acceptance in reading it. You must be a very nice, in the sense of good and self-realized, person.
Thank you.

Re: Who Truly Beliieves in Enlightnment? Is it sensationalized?

The one who questions is entitled to do so. I tend to agree, after tonights debacle on Oprah, that she and Tolle are members of that gang who are so filthy rich they feel they have the right and a duty to tell the rest of us lemmings how they live, how they feel, everything except the facts. America...

Re: 45 minutes to go...

Glad to know I wasn;t the only one with problems seeing this program. You would think that someone of Oprah's stature could have foreseen this happening. Yet another lesson in leting go, when I want to scream. AAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGHH!!

Re: Not sure what to think re: very high prices for Tolle events

But I can definitely see where a seeker would see all the accouterments of fame and fortune as a red flag warning them that yet another new age alchemist is attempting to turn human longing into gold by means of capitalism. Sellers of truth abound, and the message in each ones arsenal is taken from...

Re: Not sure what to think re: very high prices for Tolle events

I am gratified to have received such well meaning and honest replies on this forum. Sometimes people get angry and vindictive if their beliefs and leaders are questioned as less than perfect...a sure sign of cultish behaviour. I loved the book. It was sent to me by a dear friend who also sent me sev...
