Re: Views on seeing a Energy Healer

Re: John Wheeler

I had the pleasure of meeting John several times. I read all his books, the message is the same is every book, so I can't say one is any better than the other. He suggests a simple looking for the separate self we believe ourself to be. Leave out the intellect for this.

Re: All that glitters is not .... ?

Just like when you see only ornaments and trinkets, and you forget that there is only gold moulded into a variety of forms, you see only forms and objects and you forget that there is only the Self, which is the eternal, unchanging background (witness) for all impermanence. Just like gold ornaments ...

Re: Ego Identification & 12 Step Effectiveness

I know alcoholics who have never been to a single AA meeting nor ever admitted to being an alcoholic. They are unable to drink in moderation no matter what. A few have died. I don't think they had anything to lose by giving AA a shot.

Re: Experience whilst sleeping

I occasionally have something similar happen when I'm asleep. I start breathing faster also. I don't know what to make of it. I was wondering if it could be sleep apnea, when a person temporarily stops breathing while they're asleep.

Re: Coming off meds

Seroxat is another name for Paxil. This drug, like all SSRI's, needs to be tapered very slowly if a patient is taken off of it, we're talking months not weeks. Don't expect your MD to know this. The withdrawal can be severe. Google "paxil withdrawal". Big pharma even has a name for it now, they call...
