Re: Changing views on religion & spirituality
I do not believe that religions cause separation. People that grow up without religion still feel separation, people that explore 'spirituality' still feel separation, just as people who are devoted to a religion experience separation. Iamego is correct in saying that religion used to make one a bet...

Re: Understanding Emotions
The original post implies that any emotion which we deem to be positive arises out of our true nature, but any emotion which we deem to be negative arises through lack of understanding the self. Yet the Self is supposed to encompass all, the negative and positive. Even if one realizes the truth of t...

Re: Best ways to meet other like minded people in person?
There are Eckhart Tolle groups in many cities around the world. Visit his website and check if there is a realistic location you can travel to. I've never attended one, although I asked somebody by email what they do. He said they watch ET videos and spend time being 'still'. I don't believe its par...

Re: Explaning my spirituality to my Mother
At a certain point we have to go beyond any religion if we are to grow spiritually, which is what is happening to you. I disagree. I believe you can grow just as spiritually within religion as without. Those that consider themselves spiritual tend to view religion as a stumbling block, yet how does...

Re: Learning to enjoy life
Thanks for your replys. I agree WW, life isn't just about meditating and focusing your mind, its also about having fun experiences. Thats what I want. Domokato I don't know what it means to choose to enjoy life. From your perspective it may seem a little silly, but I really don't know how to have fu...

Learning to enjoy life
Hi guys, So last week I was invited to a christmas party held for my workplace. I'm not a party person, but encouraged by friends I went along. It started at 7pm so I went along at 7:30. Virtually no one was around. A few male friends piled in so I decided to chat to them until the rest of the work ...

Re: Self Defense
It would depend. You may try to defend yourself, and in the process kill the other person. That is not the same as achieving personal saftety, then going on to kill your attacker. There is no straight line reaction and were all different. I know many would have you believe otherwise, but within us, ...

Re: Can I give Eckhart's books as a gift?
Well you can give them a book if you wanna... If they're ready they're ready, if they're not they're not. You can't judge if a person is ready to get serious about remaining present, we all have the potential. If might be the happy go lucky guy or the depressive alcoholic, you never know. If the per...

Evolver I know exactly how you feel. Don't worry too much about self inquiry. I truly think it comes naturally when one is ready. If it helps, it has been advised to ask this question until finally the questioner dissolves.

Re: I think I've bruised my ego's ego!
Who is it that claims the ego is losing ground?? Is this not also a game of the mind? "The ego is so sneaky", "I am rid of ego", all mind games. Give up these ideas, all they do is reinforce the sense of an entity within called 'ego' trying to take over your mind.

I was there too, for both days. I wanted to go up and ask a question but was too nervous. I did send him an email however and suprisingly he answered my emotional ramblings.
