Re: Looking for guidance

Just a thought- it's NOT a choice between a) stay together and put up with this or b) split up. The third option is to empathically and kindly present your boundaries- e.g. if you are to live together, he has to contribute significantly (everyone must support themselves financially and make choices ...

Re: Does Consciousness evolve?

what evolves is the form in which consciousness expresses itself and the degree to which consciousness shines through that form. So by form, do you mean humans/bodies? I'm confused by this....it seems that human's capacity to become conscious (spiritually speaking) may be increasing (?) but this do...

Does Consciousness evolve?

In A New Earth, Eckhart talks about consciousness evolving. Now i'm not sure if he means "evolving" in the true sense of the word, or not. The way I see it is: a lot of people are "waking up" - or shedding the stories they've accumulated over their lifetimes. But two thousand years ago, this very sa...

Re: London - Eckhart Tolle

Hi, i've found a contact from the Eckhart Tolle official site and emailed him - he sent me this link ( http://etolle.meetup.com/299/ )- i've not tried it yet, but plan to. It's £15 for newcomers and £10 thereafter, however i'm a little poor at the moment having just moved. If anyone knows of anythin...

London - Eckhart Tolle

Hi,
I've just moved to London and wondered if there were any Eckhart Tolle style meditation/discussion groups going on?
I would like to meet some people who are attempting to put his work into practice.
:)

Re: A new therapeutic approach for increasing presence

Hi Sighclone, did you manage to get in touch with the AIT person?
I see one of the moderators has posted the Emotional Freedom Technique - I think it may be similar (not sure) to this technique - Advanced Integrative Therapy.

Re: A new therapeutic approach for increasing presence

Thanks, haven't found anything yet. I attended a talk entitled "Mindfulness for distressing psychosis" by professor Paul Chadwick last tuesday, it was REALLY interesting! Mindfulness based cognitive therapy (MBCT) is being recommended by the NICE guidelines, so hopefully this approach will become mo...

A new therapeutic approach for increasing presence

I have just been told about this new approach called advanced integrative therapy (see italics) It sounds really interesting, and I wondered if anyone had any experience of this in any way? The website which gives the rationale and background to the approach, explains : ( http://www.seemorg.com/ ) A...

Re: Paradox

I have heard all of the "ego is bad", "questions never end", "stillness is the true you" statements, but I don't *know* them. I need to understand them for myself , and there must be some way to achieve this without my exasperating mind, and without enforcing these practises on myself. This is wher...

How do I avoid the subtle traps?

Hello I have come across a few problems. I call them subtle traps, because they are so elusive. When I try and apply a pointer, I often find that i am going down the wrong path. When attempting to follow a pointer or technique, there is often a "wrong" way and a "right" way. For example, Eckhart sug...

Re: "Watching the thinker" leads to self criticism

So once you have moved your sense of this awareness into Presence, through the inner body. Then these things arise more naturally, within Presence rather than in a small space you perceive as your head or mind, you can observe or be aware while still being grounded or anchored. If you practice this...

Re: What if I am bored by the now?

Hi Blueplastic. This is something I too have been contemplating for a while. I recently started a thread entitled "My ways of avoiding the present" : http://eckhart-tolle-forum.inner-growth.info/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3947 Basically, whenever I try to be in the now, (I try to feel my inner body, focus ...
