Re: Awakening

Tommy, thank you for sharing your experiences here. As Ralph said: Don't try to convert the world, otherwise you may get very upset over the many negative remarks you will get. Enlightened or not, I expect people to remain polite and tolerant in their responses. The examples you gave us tell me that...

Re: Awakening

It sure ain't easy. When you have feelings of being unsettled and experience fear for no apparent reason, your subconscious must be busy identifying your thoughts with the false ego. At least, that is what I think I experience. It is very hard to identify a thought that makes you feel negative if so...

Re: Byron Katie & Sedona Method

Hi Gdvant, I really appreciate your effort here to explain the concept of observing with the attention of the unobserved. The way you explained it this time has made matters much clearer to me. I hope that you and others do not mind such questions. I shall spend some time on your answer and also int...

Re: Byron Katie & Sedona Method

Hi Gdvant, First of all, thank you for your efforts trying to explain the concept to me. Unfortunately, I just did not understand the original explanation. The reference is to the quality of observation in which there is no division between the observer and the observed. I don't understand what you ...

Re: too angry/agitated to be present

Hello Patbb, It is never easy to answer questions in respect of the one who asks the questions. It is bound to be more difficult to answer them when they concern someone else. I don't give advice on this site, as I am simply not living according to Eckhart Tolle,s teachings. I have too much too lear...

Re: Need to break a bad habit ... please help!

Hi Meg, I am inclined to agree with kiki. Take out of that site what you want and discard the rest. If it has evolved to a point that you cannot relate to the subjects being discussed any longer, the solution would have to be: quit! Nobody tells you that you have to be a member of that site. I am a ...

Gdvant said: The first step is to perceive the thinker as thought. What sees the thinker as thought is not of thought. Do you follow? What is of thought is of time, is always moving away from the now so to speak. What is not of thought is timeless. There is no past or future psychologically apart fr...

Re: Byron Katie & Sedona Method

I am also familiar with Byron Katies writings and videos. To the best of my understanding, she uses the question: Who would you be without that thought? to prove that thoughts do not represent reality. However, like Eckhart Tolle's teachings and others, I somehow cannot successfully apply these ques...
