Yes, they know themselves--just as we were taught in grammar school about God--He knows Himself. In that sense every color, noise, touch, smell, taste is absolute. OK. Fine. So what is the use of this line of reasoning? Well, it might be just the piece of the puzzle that is needed to allow the puzzle...

Yes, things happen of themselves to no one. But there is a tendency to agree with this and still to feel that the event is being congnized from some point other than the event itself--from outside the event. So the guy says:No, there is no ego. But still he has some image of something like an empty ...

nature of an event--any event
Let's say there has been a fast sprint. There is a throbbing in the chest.A throbbing--not a pounding heart, a throbbing.Heart is a concept.Throbbing is an experience. So, there is this throb. To whom does it happen? To no one. So, how is it experienced if it is experienced by no one? Is it that this ...

Burt Jurgen's pointers
So what Jurgens is saying is:What you see is what you got. If you see a house, then that is it--that bundle of sensations and feelings that make up "house" is all there is to it. There are no people in it living out their dull or fascinating lives. All that is conceptual. It is as if the whole world...

EPIPHANIES
I wonder if anyone would care to describe any insights or awakenings they have had regarding The Great Matter. The Great Matter being who we are and how we function. Also the nature of the world around us and our relation to the ten thousand things.

Yes, Webwander's reply was good. What could be in the way of realizing this? The situation obtains already--one is Being through and through--but the recognition is balked somehow. I know thoughts, choices, decisions, anger, love etc are happenings. But this business of Oneness--recongniton of that ...

AWARENESS VS. BEING LIFE
I ran into a sentence in the writing of a teacher whom I like: Awareness of life happening is not the same as "being life." When he says "Awareness of life happening" , he means watching thoughts and feelings and being aware that they are just happening and not part of your real identity. I wonder i...

The linguistic possibilities of now
NOW itself has certain hidden beauties for those of us who like to read backwards. Reverse now and you get WON--which is what we have done once we are established in NOW. As for this backward form of NOW, ie., WON, it has for a homonym the word ONE and we all know the beauty and power of that hombre.

The question of spiritual teachers and moola
Why do teachers whose doctrines seem to imply a lifestyle of extreme simplicity--I mean, if you've got the NOW what more do you need?--go on tours and charge almost rockstar admission prices?Well, maybe they have families whose members need a little something besides the little bit of NOW they have ...

The ten thousand things
An old chinese saying: The ten thousand things are nothing but modifications of the heart.Heart here probably means Buddha mind, but even if it only means the emotional heart in each of us it is still perfectly straight on. This is what is meant by the saying: The world is a mirror.I guess I am intr...

That was a nice exposition.I must say you make is sound beastly difficult.Which from experience I know it is. But it does have its' little on-the-way rewards. I do not suppose I will be running with the giants any time soon--but just because I am never going to be a millionaire is no reason I should...

Listening to a guru on Youtube the other day--in my old age I have become a guru whore--I was struck by one of his points: Confusion is as much an expression of oneness as clarity.I take this to mean:Buck up, you are not so confused that you don't recognize confusion.Primoridal clarity, or awareness...

Really there is no watcher. There is only watching. What you call the watcher is only the ego identified with watching.Probably I am peaching to the choir when I say this here.

time and space
I am trying to figure out what it means when it is said without time there can be no space. I can easily accept the fact that there is no time. There is only now masquerading as past or future.Ok. But how does the fact of no time cancel the fact of space.
