Reading "I Am That" makes me sad

Has anyone else noticed it?

Kind of weird. I don't know why it's happening. Nisargadatta has make the most profound "hit" on me but it isn't a pleasure to read his writings

Re: losing interest/having no personality

I haven't write here a long time and I feel your "problem". This indifference has caused me some problems because I just don't care anymore about things that profit me in someway :D (Sounds bad) Is this somekind of zombie second state I don't know. Maybe I shoul'd listen to ET but it feels useless. ...

Sort of Asceticism for nothing?

You are not your thoughts. You are not body. You are not this or that Neti neti I have noticed in my behavior that I deny somethings from me without a real reason. For example I sometimes don't participate happenings that made 'me' (ego) happy before I had read any spiritual books/being aware of the...

Nisargadatta + weather?

Question: If time and space are mere illusions and you are beyond, please tell me what is the weather in New York. Is it hot or raining there? Maharaj: How can I tell you? Such things need special training. Or, just travelling to New York. I may be quite certain that I am beyond time and space, and...

Re: Anyone also read Dr. David Hawkins?

Yes I have read one book. I can't remember its name but is was something about spritual levels where one can be. He said that Jesus and Buddha were at the top 1000 level and that's the ultimate place ;)

There were a few great insights. I recommend reading Hawkings.

Re: Presence vs Focus

However, through work and sports, I am conditioned to focus on the task at hand and to work hard at achieving a goal. I am finding that practicing presence is causing me to not focus and not really to worry about performance levels. How wonderful is that :D Remember you are always present. When you...

In order that your post is valid, Eckhart teaches dualism, first there has to be YOU and Eckhart who teaches to YOU, which is a statement of duality

Re: Is awareness supposed to help?

I know right now that I am not experiencing peaceful essence. I'm aware that there is pain and I am aware that I am saying no. That's it right there. Who is wanting to feel peaceful essence? Who does not want to feel pain? Search the "want-er" if you can locate it. Is it real? If you are wanting to...

Re: Being the witness/observer -- easier at times than others?

Yes, it's true that the observer gets close to the no-state-state. Prior to the Observer and no-state-state, it requires an I AM. I am the observer and there must be the observed. Buddha said that no being has ever entered nirvana. It's because there can't be an "I" left to know it. The various oppo...

Understand, that the observer is also a mind made consept and see how much you are identifying with it vs. being pure awareness.

Re: I wish I could click better with spirtitual types...

Have you tried them all? :D

Nisargadatta Maharaj said that one should get another guru if suffering continues after few days/years. If there is no progress, try another one :)
