Re: Neale Donald Walsch

Well, someone has to re-awaken this thread. :-) I just got through reading Walsch's newest book called "Happier than God", and it motivated me to dig up this old thread. I absolutely loved the book (I am in the process of re-reading it ). As with most books like this, I find it hard to describe. I m...

Re: What if I am bored by the now?

After reading over the posts, I'm not sure we are giving enough credit to the power of the "real world" to distract us from presence. To clarify, most of my distractions from the present are not necessarily with the past but moreso with the future. In particular, playing out scenarios in my head or ...

Re: Leonard Jacobson - A Personal Recommendation

Thanks for the recommendation of Leonard Jacobson. I am reading Journey Into Now for the 2nd time through. This time, it really strikes me what a fantastic companion book this is to Eckert's "A New Earth". It just seems to compliment Eckert's writings. They both elaborate in areas that are touched m...

Re: Challenging Eckhart: Practice is necessary, as is clock time

I pretty much skimmed the thread and didn't see what I am about to say, so forgive me if it was already stated. I am in the middle of ANOTHER reading of Tolle's "A New Earth" and I just happened to read the part about time last night. Tolle clearly stated that he was not referring to clock time when...

"Let It Be"

Hmmm, I think that is McCartney, not Lennon. But hey, who am I to see who's singing in your mind?

Awareness

I am reading Awareness and it is great stuff.

It actually started out quite slowly for me but now I am loving it. His style, iconoclastic, is quite entertaining. He does not pull punches, good for him!

Jacobsen does a great job of delving into the blocks to being present. That's probably what stands out most to me in this book. But what really blows me away is when he states that "all God has to offer is the present moment." The ego can lure us with promises, temptations. That graphically shows me...

EvB

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this thread, but I have been reading the book faithfully (that's always a good sign, haha). I am loving this book, and would second your recommendation of it. Some of it is certainly a restatement of things I have read in Tolle's books. but he certainly goes o...

Journey

EvB - I have just started reading it and I am enjoying it. I'll keep you up to date as far as any thoughts I have about the book.

The similarities to Eckhart are quickly apparent, but it always helps to get another slant on these issues, and this book provides that.

Tolle - Dyer

In a world of role-playing personalities, those few people who don't project a mind-made image - and there are some even on TV, in the media and the business world - but function from the deeper core of their Being, those who do not attempt to appear more than they are but are simply themselves, st...

One self

Thanks mikel - I sort of thought that too, but his repeated statements about that made me wonder. Also, it occurred to me that maybe he meant that we are all on individual journeys. We all have a history that invokes certain unconscious actions and are evolving towards an inevitable future self with...
