Re: The End of Seeking
Great questions, Web Wanderer, It is very popular in the eastern traditions to say that "All is Maya" "It is all an illusion", "Nothing is Real", Personally, that just doesn't quite explain how stubbing my toe, doesn't hurt. It does. On another subject, I think it is important to remember that when ...

Re: Surrender and Loved one's addictions.
I'll be Staying focused for a trigger thought to pop in, to surrender to the moment and not let the story take the lead. Always a wise plan for all of us, Juno :) I call them sticky thoughts, you call them trigger thoughts, and Adyashanti calls them velcroz thoughts. The ones that have a way of wea...

Re: Surrender and Loved one's addictions.
Bless you, Juno, Our families have such deep roots in our conditioning, that they are often our biggest challenge in letting go of attachments. It sounds like you are doing great :) I think that one of the rules in all 12-step programs is really, really good. Only a recovered alcoholic, or a recover...

Re: Stop and Breathe Everyone
Lots of drama playing out here lately, both publicly and privately, so everybody stop a moment and ask yourself why you are here and what you want to gain from this discussion community. Use whatever triggers defensiveness as a clue to deepen your inquiry into what you are; being honest with yourse...

Re: Becoming Trapped by Thought-stream
When I read kiki's post, my first thought was that it would have been wonderful if, as a child in 2nd grade, he could have read Milton's Secret. Milton is a happy boy, until he goes to school and encounters "a bully" Almost overnight, he becomes very unhappy, and can't stop worrying about what the b...

Re: Milton's Secret (New Eckhart Tolle Book)
I bought the book yesterday, and it is a good one. It basically cuts Eckharts's message to the core of being present to this moment, and feeling the inner light body. Similar to teaching our children to meditate, and pay attention to their breathing, and the life force within their bodies. Robert S....

Re: Ego and the present moment
Eckhart mentions that the ego cannot survive if you are completely present. How is it then that my niece (1.5 years old) gets upset when something is taken away from her? She is not thinking of past or future when she's identifying with that object and getting upset, yet her ego is still there. Ani...

Re: We are all enlightened
Webwanderer shared It's not entirely looking that is leading seekers down the path of endless searching. It's more where it is they look. Most seekers of truth and enlightenment (myself included for a couple of decades) look outside, because even though there has been a constant mantra to look insid...

Re: Eckhart Unplugged
This sounds a lot like the actual structure of our brains. Being aware of both the left hemisphere and the right hemisphere, and moving freely between the two, depending on what the circumstance calls for, makes for an integrated human being.

Re: Soul Series has Eckhart, others
Which makes me wonder if the right side of our brains receive information telepathically? And as Hermitloon mentions, we have been taught to ignore the right brain, and favor the left brain. I have so many questions now after watching those shows. I wonder if Jill is back to doing research? And if s...
