Re: Motivation and purpose in the "life after"

I have resolved this thread question for myself and the purpose that brought me to this excellent forum. I thought that I would record my solution for others that might wonder about the same thing. Webwanderer was quite correct in his reply but it took me some time to know what he was talking about....

Re: Ego trap - "I am not that"

My understanding of the Tolle books is that he said everyone is both. You are the ripple and you are the ocean. You are the thinking (ego part) and you are the knowing (god part). Tolle said his ripple and his ocean were at war. For me they are not. Instead each part works in its own area of experti...

Re: Pain and Suffering

Nothing of what you have said has made me understand this. True, that is your job, not mine. I (or any other form) can't make you (or anyone else) do anything. It's all just playing with words. True, all words are form. All questions are form. The answer to your question lies in non-form. Non-form ...

Re: Pain and Suffering

But at the same time enlightenment/realization is also a deep understanding that you are one with everything, right? That would mean that you are one with your thoughts/suffering as well. How can you be one with everything, but at the same time your not attached to your thoughts? Kutso The word und...

Re: Who Truly Beliieves in Enlightnment? Is it sensationalized?

Suzanne: Quite a change in posting since your first post in this thread. You are now present. Astaroth: Re: "I am the world, every moment..." This statement is self=contradictory. Two year olds often go through this stage before the world corrects them. Without death and time, some egos could believ...

Suzanne wrote: "The lion will lie down with the lamb" stuff is really what the end times are supposed to be about.
I quite like this version:
And the lion shall lie down with the lamb! ........ but the lamb will not get much sleep. :D

Re: Acceptance

I struggle to see how we can actually do anything to change our situation unless we strongly think and feel "this isnt good enough/I wont accept this---- and this is the fuel to act and do something about it. I instinctively know Eckharts teachings contain something very profound but it seems in so...

Re: Nature or Nurture

I was wondering about this question: Is the unmanifest silent as part of its nature or because it is so unused by consciousness? Being unmanifest it can't be other than silent. If it wasn't "silent" then that would be some sort of manifestation. Are we learning to use it? Who is it that would "use"...

Nature or Nurture

When I was very young, I had an ego but had to learn to use it. When I die, I will have the unmanifest but have to learn to use it.

I was wondering about this question: Is the unmanifest silent as part of its nature or because it is so unused by consciousness? Are we learning to use it?

Re: Not sure what to think re: very high prices for Tolle events

I am gratified to have received such well meaning and honest replies on this forum. Sometimes people get angry and vindictive if their beliefs and leaders are questioned as less than perfect...a sure sign of cultish behaviour. I loved the book. It was sent to me by a dear friend who also sent me se...

Re: How you know it's christmas

Now, consider this: If you heard anyone tell you that they can’t wait for January 25th, because January 25th always “turns out so precious, magical, shimmering, and joyful, you’d think them daft. How can one day really be all that different from the day before or the day after? How can one day “mak...

Anyone else feel it like that? Am I way off? :?: I agree with Suzanne. She is right on. I have experienced the state several times in my past in an uncontrolled manner. ET has helped me recognize it and choose to enter it more and more. I am quite grateful for his books and teachings. For me, what ...

Re: Surrender to Now

In any case, I'd say the answer to your riddle is that there would seem to be two vases in reality... I don't get the practical application of that riddle, though, lol. I meant the question more on the line of a koan, not really as something with an definite or a practical answer. The question came...

Re: Surrender to Now

I'm still very new at all of this stuff... I have a very logical brain and so I sort of need a definable answer to this question or else I will keep wondering what it is. It's like my drawing instructor and how he always dances around the answer but never quite gives it to me. My question is, if I ...

Re: work situation

Hi all, People at work now know that I am into Taosim, etc. as a blog I wrote was made public, which was unbeknownst to me. I am quite angry about this, and feel vulnerable, even though there is no immediate attack or danger. What should I do? Just observe this as part of the ego, etc? Hope you can...
