Re: Challenging Eckhart: Practice is necessary, as is clock time

I just think he is to obsessed with the past and future. The mind can be clouded by many other things that arent really related to time at all. Maybe so, but I wouldn't discount the significance of being trapped in a time-based mentality. People spend enormous amounts of (clock) time and energy lam...

Re: Challenging Eckhart: Practice is necessary, as is clock time

I pretty much skimmed the thread and didn't see what I am about to say, so forgive me if it was already stated. I am in the middle of ANOTHER reading of Tolle's "A New Earth" and I just happened to read the part about time last night. Tolle clearly stated that he was not referring to clock time whe...

Re: Crucifixion

I believe his crusifiction to be symbolic really. A symbol of the final dismantling of the ego. And that letting go of that ego brings you to God. I still fully believe that Jesus was a disciple of eastern religions. I dont think that its a coinsidence that he was carried away into the east for 30 y...

Re: Orgasm, an opening into the divine?

I believe it does grant you an opening in that particular wall we all want to get through. The thing is, though, that an orgasm is a secondary way of getting there. I believe that to truly dismantle the walls you have to go directly to the source and not circumvent it. The latter will only be brief ...

Re: Challenging Eckhart: Practice is necessary, as is clock time

Good post Kingdomcome and welcome to the group. I am of the work mentality as well (blue collar spirituality?) , but readily admit I don't have the experience to back that up. Many will say that you don't have to practice, just stay present/surrender. How did you experience rebirth? Hi there and th...

Re: Challenging Eckhart: Practice is necessary, as is clock time

Practice is necessary, why? It's not enough to know who you are on a conceptual level, everybody here know (I assume) who they are, but folks this is not enough, it's just bunch of belief mind do to you. You can say 10000x of times I'am not my mind and the body and u have "feeling" you are already ...

Re: The Age of Awakening

Awakening is inevitable as basic needs are so easily fulfilled for so many people. The next 50 years will bring revelations unheard of. Tolles teachings are the stumbling first steps of a child. Much, much more will be ackknowledged I believe.

Re: How to fully accept yourself?

I sometimes feel so down. I sometimes feel so up! I am in therapy and have been for a year. There have been times where life has felt so big that I've sobbed with joy, feeling God and infinite love. There are also times where I am swallowed whole by utter despair; contemplating death, suffocation b...

Re: The annoying fear

With focus I can control it but it seems like a real effort to sever this conection to what I can clearly see as a mental construct struggling to exist, Any input would be greatly appreciated My own experience tells me that waht you try to control, controls you. But this has allready been voiced, I...

Re: Presence in the face of "bad" behaviour

If you have found your deepest roots you should have more than adequate answers for how to deal with such a situation. So says the Ether. Or rather: my own experice.
