Why Our Children Have a Grim Future- and What To Do About It

17 years ago, this 12 year old girl delivered a speech that brought the whole world to stunned silence. But hers was a plea that most of us had ignored. Hence it's our children and the generations after them who will pay the price. Can we still sit here and turn a blind eye? I implore you to take ac...

Re: Spirituality and Drive

Losing one's drive is a common phase people go through at some point during the awakening process. For many, it happens when they begin to disidentify their sense of self from things that are impremanent, from 'form' - so they may find that they no longer find fulfillment in having prestige or appea...

Re: Has anyone else experienced this?

Welcome to the forum Laka! Thank you for your post, it pointed something out to me. Yes i am actually going through the same thing as you are, and come to think of it, yes it does make a lot of sense for the pain-body or for the ego to "put up a fight" so to speak. In my own experience as I go deepe...

Re: What are your Pet Peeves / Pet Hates?

Litterers! I think murder can be condoned in some cases, but littering, never! I don't think capital punishment should be used, however, when it comes to litterers, it might be in order! Hahaha..this reminds me of how I used to feel about smokers. I really really hated it when people smoke i...

Re: What are your Pet Peeves / Pet Hates?

Quite often, I am in the other room, and after I put down my work and come to her room, I usually find her browsing the net or watch TV, she could just pick it up herself!  THis made me laugh out loud... yeah you men just fall for women's charms all the time, and sometimes you guys dont ...

I think I know what you mean Andy, but can you give an example so that I know for sure we mean the same thing? Cheers!

Re: What are your Pet Peeves / Pet Hates?

Narayan,

I can see what you mean about this. It seems to be very common among couples, though. I think for many people, it's difficult to sit amidst other people's problems as an observer without needing to "fix" anything, or do something about the problem.

What are your Pet Peeves / Pet Hates?

(In case you haven't come across it before, a pet hate or a pet peeve is something that upsets you, irritates you or drive you crazy. It's usually something very trivial- e.g., when someone didn't replace the tissue paper in the bathroom; when someone swears a lot; the sound of noisy eating; frequen...

Re: Who here is from a christian background?

I was raised as a Roman Catholic, and was sent to a Catholic School ran by Augustinian Recollect nuns. From a very young age I have always found many of the teachings absurd, especially the idea of a hugely egoic God who constantly needed me to praise and adore Him every single day, follow his comma...

Re: Age

Thanks, Kiki

Yes, your explanation makes sense :)

It's interesting to note that I keep hoping to bump into another person my age in these spiritual groups. Perhaps I need to put more enthusiasm into the fact that I'm regularly hangin' out with grandmas and grandpas  teehee

Re: Age

Wow the results of this survey reflect the same thing within the spiritual circles I'd been mingling in lately. I attended an ET Silent Group the other week and they all appeared to be over 50... only one guy appeared to be between 40- 50. Then I attended a J. Krishnamurti group the other day and ha...

Re: Dis-identifying With Mind-Gateways To Now

That's obiously truth but we also have to take the rseponsibility for the forms we own- for the body, for thoughts, and for our actions, which comes out when the two of them [the body & the mind] act together. we let it act and we watch that. One who truly recognizes his essence will simply stop to...
