Re: Your Poetry?

I have attained nothing I`m just some guy on the street who talks to himself my new balance sneakers are worn and my left jacket elbow is torn. My personal favorite.... My contribution: Death and dying visited me this season Both father AND "surrogate" mother And I notice Sometimes you have to summ...

Re: spiritual addiction

For me, I associate spiritual addiction with my realization somewhere along the way in my self discovery process, that, 100% of the time, when I address any condition within me of feeling bad, anxious, or upset, this will lead to my feeling better, and less or not at all upset. Now, that probably on...

Presdestination and free will exist simultaneously. Wisdom is to accept both, not either/or.

Re: Presence does not lead to enlightenment

Steve, Your post put me in mind of an old saying that goes something like "I'm not sure what you heard me say is what I actually said" (lol as they say)....I'm just working out "theory" and "method" of personal growth, which COULD be "argued" on a level of defining enlightenment, but my intentions a...

Re: Presence does not lead to enlightenment

Here's how it looks to me today (partly I'm figuring this out as I write/edit it): Each of us knows within how close to total enlightenment we are, relative to how we have defined enlightenment for ourselves. This is THE PATH, itself. Failure to fully realize this path will lead to conclusions such ...

Re: Who Truly Beliieves in Enlightnment? Is it sensationalized?

There are a lot of people selling the secret to life, by which I/they mean financial well-being, family unity and multi-level nourishment, career/intellectual/artistic fulfillment, peace of mind, understanding of the true nature of life and life's events, and other things which promise freedom from ...

Re: Mysticism

Astrologers don't call Astrology mysticism. Self-discovery requires absolute independence of methodology, if it is to be successful, that is. A methodology that disappears in proportion to its success, absorbed into identity-less-ness by pure being, trumped by "the now". Otherwise, it's dogmatism, m...

entelechy, Since your post has received attention from those who saw and felt your dilemma, and since they did that better than I would have anyway, I wanted to address a different aspect of what you described. What struck me about the listening place was the phenomenon of the years and years of peo...

Re: Who Truly Beliieves in Enlightnment? Is it sensationalized?

I don't know if these issues you raise are real concerns for you, or more in the realm of philosophical argument....? In a sense, enlightenment doesn't exist if physical cause and effect don't exist, so you can't separate them, they go together, work in tandem with each other, each one explains the ...

Re: Karma

Wilber seems to want to impose a sequential reincarnation dogma upon the reader, even as he poo poos the idea that karma is a misinterpretation of the relationship between this and a "previous" life. Tough sell, as I see it. Maybe karma is just a rigid adherence to a belief in cause and effect. Ben

Re: Who Truly Beliieves in Enlightnment? Is it sensationalized?

Enlightenment is the natural condition, all we have to do is to remove the obstacles to it.... In the process of removing these obstacles we will probably "experience" healing, and we will probably experience higher practical competence, along with more natural, unobstructed being, diminishment of g...
