Re: Can the watcher watch the thinker think?

Interesting responses. Thanks! But...they all use ET's words to support ET's words. I've met religions like that! lol. I'm trying to put ET's ideas into practice and having limited success. And trying to determine whether the failure is in my practicing the ideas or the ideas themselves. ET's 'model...

Can the watcher watch the thinker think?

ET describes the thinker as a "possessing entity" implying that it's separate from the watcher. Something the watcher could watch AS the thinker goes about it's business of thinking. Despite several years of practice trying to dis-identify with the thinker, I find I can either think or watch. I can'...

Re: Isn't Discussion Generating More Thinking?

First it's a mountain, then it's not a mountain, then it's a mountain again. Words are based on concepts and using them takes you into duality, or mis-identification with the mind. But they're not "off limits." The key is what you're identifying with, your concepts or your awareness? Tolle's work, a...

Re: How does this relate to the Law of Attraction?

In response to the original question: There is no conflict. The universe(?) manifests in non-duality (singularity?). The mind conceives in duality. ie: the concept of 'God' only can exist within a concept of non-god. You know (conceive) of God only within knowing what God is not. As Osho put it, God...

Re: Quantifying Consciousness

Maybe a different perspective will cast a new light... Aristotle, and many others before and after, puzzled over the "philosophy of change"--seemingly finding no answers other than the observation that change is so pervasive in life that life and change are inseparable. Can we then say life is a flo...

Re: Tolle's view on the Bible

In my opinion, ET's real accomplishment in writing his books was to take 2000+ years of religion and mysticism and reduce it to simple modern practice. He's not using religion to support his own thesis, he's doing the reverse. He's looked deeply at religious practice and found the common points to a...
