Re: Eckhart and Abraham differences?

Over the past month I have gotten really interested in Abraham-Hicks. I was aware of them before but it is only now that I can look at their teachings through the lens of eckhart tolle's teachings that they really resonate with me. To me, the teachings have exactly the same message despite some surf...

Hmm, well to reply about a year later, :) ,

I thought Deepak's Buddha was great. Has anyone else read it now?

Erict,

I'm curious as to why you feel this way---would you explain? Thanks :)

Re: Which Book? Poll

A New Earth is my favorite; I have a really deep affinity for it for some reason and I think it is the best introduction to Eckhart's teachings. I also love Stillness Speaks and The Power of Now and see them as essential reading, I just think most people are more likely to appreciate A New Earth fir...

Re: How often are you truly present?

Webwanderer, Andy, and Innerhike, Thank You very much for your responses--it is so helpful to me to hear about other people's experiences with this. After posting this question I was re-reading some parts of PON, mostly about inner body awareness. I know (intellectually anyway) about inner body awar...

How often are you truly present?

It might be tempting to criticize the wording of this question, (i.e. you can only be present now, not often, etc.) but I hope you guys will understand what I'm asking and share your experiences and insight. Eckhart Tolle's teachings have helped me immensely and I continue to learn, or unlearn, from...

Re: private situation

Hi Tikey, Ten years ago I went through a very serious depression and I can relate to how it feels to come out of something like that. Since you appreciate Eckhart Tolle's teachings (it took me several years after the depression I experienced to be interested in his books) you know that suffering is ...

Re: Lengthening your duration in the Now

Also, if I were to suggest a tip for staying present, I guess it would be to refrain from internally scolding yourself for not being present and instead gently place your attention back to now. You're probably aware of the pointers Eckhart gives, such as: Asking what is my relationship to the presen...

Re: Lengthening your duration in the Now

HonestInjun, I can relate to what you're saying. I fully inhabit the now, then I don't fully inhabit the now, and so on. And I often become aware of thoughts that are criticizing "me" for not being present. It's kind of hilarious. When I am truly present (for seemingly brief periods) ,my mind likes ...

Re: Neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor - awakening

Has anyone watched the series of interviews with Jill Bolte Taylor that Oprah did?

It's actually one interview in 4 parts, I've seen the first three (Oprah's site is not currently cooperating on the 4th yet) and they are really fascinating.....
