Re: The End of Seeking

Yes, +Jim+, I do mean opinion. My words above are based on observation, but they are still just my best guess - as you mentioned. This is what the present moment is showing me. Nevertheless, I am willing to change my opinions. Currently, I am able to find a body, thoughts, ego, and mind - be they i...

Re: The End of Seeking

In my opinion - the ego and the mind are just as "real or imaginary" as our bodies are. If we feel our bodies as real, at least temporarily, then we should consider that the ego and the mind are real as well. Do you really mean opinion Glycine? Because opinion really means that I don't know, but it...

Re: The End of Seeking

And what is an "investigation into the nature of reality and..." if not a spiritual search? That was written in response to your questions - i.e. It seems easy to attack the ego sense of being as not real, but what exactly is not real? ...the ego, or the imagining of it? What I'm getting at is: is ...

Re: The End of Seeking

This is a waste of time. All spiritual seeking is a waste of time. It is a waste of life. What then, is not a waste of time, and life? To assert that one thing, such as spiritual seeking is a waste, does it not then follow that some other activity is more productive and not a waste? If so, What? If...

Re: The End of Seeking

A: Even in the moments when it appears to exist, is there actually something called "ego" or is there an imagining of it? S: Imagining. A: Do you understand that? It is imagination. The entire spiritual path is all imagination. It is the imagining of something called "ego" that then has to be remov...

Re: letting go of the ego

There's this fabulous post here http://eckhart-tolle-forum.inner-growth.info/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=5402 that beautifully conveys what I have been trying to convey in this thread.... A: Now tell me one thing now. In this moment here, is there anything real called "ego?" S: You want the truth? A: Yes. ...

Re: The end of your world

In other words, in the instant of the feeling of frustration, one is not awake. The thought that states that things should be different, is the source of, and so precedes the feeling of frustration. If one believes that thought, or accepts it as true, then there will be frustration. Tell me if I've...

Re: The end of your world

Frustration is wanting things to be other than they are - arguing with what is. When that happens one is truly not awake! Okay, so clarify things then: are you stating that when there's a genuine awakening one never feels frustration again? Or is that not what you're claiming? The point I was makin...

Re: Does an awakened one need to forgive others...

What if I speak something from my painbody which really ticks off my husband...I apologize...he may or may not "accept" "forgive"...but why would I be apologizing??? seeking forgiveness??? It is what it is, it is the past, I cant take it back.. Sometimes one may say something that isn't true, just ...

Re: The end of your world

Just because someone's awakened doesn't mean that emotions and feelings disappear. If "abiding in enlightenment" means that there are emotions, it's going to be an eternity before the abiding occurs. Frustration is wanting things to be other than they are - arguing with what is. When that happens o...

Re: not as strong as i thought, and dealing with an addict

I have a few suggestions - I have experience of a family member who is anorexic and has been sectioned twice and has survived several OD attempts. 1. Be very honest with yourself and find out what was your motivation for your actions, any shows of superiority and 'strength' will always be catalysts ...

Re: rain gods and egos

Jim...sorry, you are right. His definition is that the ego is a "false self created by unconscious identification with the mind." (PON p. 22). I got my words all mixed up. There are only two selves he found, the false self of the ego and Being. Not just your words Andy, your concepts were all mixed...

Re: rain gods and egos

Eckhart discovered that his ego (full of structure and content as discussed at length in ANE) created a "false self." Look Andy, even your concepts of ego are muddled! You've now created the idea of a 3rd level of identity 1 ego 2 false self created by ego 3 real self This is what happens when you ...

Re: The end of your world

Hi, Jim! Believe it or not, I actually agree that Adya is not a perfect teacher...that he sounds pretentious from time to time. So does Eckhart, so do I and so do you. Andy, do you think that everything is just a matter of opinion? You say There is nothing to learn Andy But in your blog you say:......
