Oneness,
Instead of saying "I don't want you in my life" or "I will allow you in my life" (both related to the future), why not just take each moment as it comes and see what happens? If she calls you and you're in the Now you may decide that you'd rather not talk to her at that time.

Re: Eckhart and Abraham differences?
In their later stuff they talk about how it's not the law of attraction that we should be paying attention to, but more so the law of allowing. In a recording of a seminar in 2006 she talks about accepting the present as it is and not judging it. In their older stuff, I'd have to say that I largely ...

Re: Eckhart and Abraham differences?
Ow my head hurts reading this stuff lol! I do understand what youre saying if I *strain* my brain. I'm not sure how to practically use this knowledge however. I'm sure I could say to myself using my mind "I'm not seperate from anything, therefore I already have it" but thats just my mind, I don't b...

Re: Tolle's ideas about humanity's timeline
Thanks for the responses. (: I do see the point about how Tolle would naturally focus more on the formless simply because that's the dimension that most people are lacking awareness of. Just curious, but why would you say that form and formless are interdependent? Form certainly depends on formless ...

Re: Eckhart and Abraham differences?
Keep in mind that Tolle's teaching is about discovering one's true nature, which cannot be pinned down in any way because it is unmanifested (it is no thing), while fulfilling desires is about "things", what arises as some kind of manifestation. Anything which can be sensed or thought about is a ma...

Re: No energy, no vitality
If the lack of energy is a physical symptom or side effect, then it will take some time for your body to balance itself out. It will though, if you focus on being present much of the time. I used to suffer from fatigue. It was pretty bad actually... I thought I had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or a slee...

Re: Eckhart and Abraham differences?
I'm a huge Abraham-Hicks fan as well. Honestly, I think Abraham's overall philosophy matches mine much more closely than Tolle's does. Tolle's books have been invaluable to me though. It's like... the Abraham-Hicks series is the "what" and "why", and Tolle's books are the "how". They're each looking...

Re: Jesus's Resurrection
Most of Jesus' teachings are accessable through direct experience. Tolle's revelation of Now only helps to make what has always been true clear. As to the resurection, we cannot, nor can anyone else, know it's truth directly. Many assume the account is true and accurate. Others aren't so sure. Pers...

Tolle's ideas about humanity's timeline
Tolle's books have been invaluable for me, but there are two things that I tend to disagree with. The first is his generalization about men and women. I see no need to get into that though. The second is what this topic is about. Tolle makes form out to be lesser in importance than spirituality, and...

Jesus's Resurrection
So far Jesus's resurrection is the only thing in the Bible that I can think of that doesn't appear to be compatible with Tolle's books (at least not the audio books that I've listened to). Does anyone know what he says about this? Or does anyone have any ideas on how they could be compatible? I ask ...

Re: Peeling off layer after layer of ego/awareness... no end?
I am aware that I am perceiving reality. I am aware that I am aware that I am perceiving reality. I am aware that I am aware that I am aware that I am perceiving reality. ????? I suppose this is all my thinking. I feel that I am blocked from experiencing myself as awareness due to watching my thoug...

Re: Question about people's personal experiences
Hi arel, I don't think someone has to have a dramatic experience in order to become more present, and those who haven't "hit bottom" aren't going to describe the process the same way as those who have. As far as enlightenment... I don't know, I don't really like that term. "Seeking enlightenment" so...

Re: Meditation vs. being Present
I'm not sure you need to focus on your energy during meditation if you're already able to "switch off" your thinking mechanism without doing so. Perhaps you could try focusing on your inner energy field while you're doing simple tasks or driving instead?

Re: Past conditioning my present...
I'd recommend meditation, if you don't already meditate regularly. I find that it's really easy to slip back into old thought patterns if I don't meditate at least once a day. I've noticed that it feels really good to meditate as soon as I start observing unease in myself.
