My problem is I cannot experience that Presence, that field, that calmness, that beautiful peaceful feeling.
Now you are stuck. You have made it some special experience other than what is here and now. And so you are future seeking, not present. You are looking for different content.

Re: Worry about the future of humanity

How have you been able to find peace in not having power to make the changes that are needed. What have you found to bring you peace? If I have the power to make change, I do what I can...leaving the results to God (so to speak). If I don't have the power to make change, I don't make myself miserab...

Re: Living in outside world

I realise this is an old topic, but I have the same question as original poster. You say that we should do things for the joy of it, such as trying to become a president. What is driving us to achieve goals and why we even should have goals and a 'journey' ? Are certain actions considered good, bec...

Started a Discord server for Nonduality & Enlightenment (multiple text and voice chat rooms)

I recently discovered Discord and created a Nonduality & Enlightenment server. Right now there is one public voice chat room (we can add more depending on needs) and there is a general text chat (outside of Introduction)...but more can be added. I invite you to check out http://www.discord.gg/cWmF9x...

Re: Inner body and thoughts

Yes...it is too forced...with too much thought and concern about thought. In fact, why even bother saying to yourself, "No I should be in the inner body"? You see...you said "no". That is resisting thought. I am not saying to say "no" to anything. Simply let it go and focus on the experience of now....

Re: Thoughts and balance

I live in thoughts. Thinking can be a source of entertainment and reflection for me. But I see where this has also become a problem. I feel like I would enjoy life much more without this constant "wonder" that I get stuck in. I have had small glimpses of that freedom.. But my question is this: aren...

Re: Inner body and thoughts

The attention should be on inner body awareness and the senses (what you see, hear, smell, taste, and feel). There is only so much attention to go around and there is so much to be aware of at any given moment...so if you are 100% devoted to the experience of now, then thought doesn't come up much. ...

Re: Afraid to acknowledge the pain

The ego is just a thought. A forcefield that could block the experience of now is a thought - there is no such block to simply feeling/sensing/experiencing. The present is not something you try to get into, because that sets up weird mental separations. You are already present...you have no choice b...

Re: How much do you agree with the so-called first noble truth in Buddhism?

The first Noble Truth is life is dukkha. Dukkha is suffering, but deeper than that...it is discontent and dissatisfaction. Most people are discontent or dissatisfied that they become sick from time time (and not happy when they are sick)...also that they will die and while alive people they care abo...

Re: Detachment feels peaceful ... and dead

I am sorry that is your experience. My experience of non-attachment has been different. I am not attached because attachment is a delusion...and I know it is futile to try to hold on and will only cause myself suffering. However, the juice of life is still there. It is like playing a game...you can ...

Re: Regret unconcious decisions

Dear forum, Now that I am enlightened I realise that I have been very unconcious. I have made a lot of unconcious decisions, egoistic even. I now regret decisions I have made, which I know is in turn unconscious. How do I deal with this feeling of guilt? Should I tell people I have lied to cover up...

Re: Only 80% thoughts gone after enlightenment?

Eckhart Tolle said in one of his youtube videos that only 80% of his thoughts were gone after enlightenment. I thought after reaching this state, that thoughts were meant to be gone completely. Could somebody explain this one to me. I would have to agree. 80% or so of my thoughts are gone. I often ...
