Re: What do we want?

Hi AA, There seems to an inner voice that tells me what I should or shouldn't be doing. It's not an actual voice, but a pulling in one direction or the other. If I join in on gossip, or speak poorly of another person, I feel a pulling against that, like something's trying to stop me. If I pay attent...

Re: Try as I might, I can't shake the past.

Welcome Marty. Even in my moments of greatest presence and clarity, when I'm allowing thoughts to gently enter and leave my mind without identifying with them, I find that past conditioning still has a hold on me. This illustrates that you are identifying as someone situated somewhere, ie, a person ...

Re: What is beyond the stars?

Hi Mystic,

Yes, going to the end or edge of the universe - I recall a similar experience. Resulting realisation ? - that the, or any, universe is in mind or consciousness.

Re: The Dead Corpse of Materialism/Reductionism

Thanks WW, enjoyed watching that a few days ago, and had something of a deepening realisation: that whatever the mind is into, 'that' is what 'manifests'. As a minor example. A while ago I was investigating for as new roof on my house (ie this was 'on my mind', sometimes not consciously so) and foun...

Re: Presence throughout the day

Hi, I like to practise presence all the day, buts its really stressful. Presence in mediation and in between works fine, but "holding" awareness all the day... - when I'm focussing on one thing, e.g. feeling my hands while washing, is stressful after a certain period of time, - a "soft mind" which ...

Re: Campfire tales too: What ultimately MATTERS?

As conscious potential in thought, I am. There is no need for I AM, as there is no other conscious being. No matter who or what is perceived, there is no other conscious being. Of course there is potential to become lost in thought (been there, done that), but that is not what I am. As conscious pot...

Re: Food For Thought

So the thought Dijmart, is not going to be learning anything new, nor has a job. Dijmart is just a thought that arises from time to time that thinks it is having an experience and in control of something - until it doesn't (or isn't). I know it's mind blowing, isn't it! I find it rather funny too. ...

Re: Intense awareness experience

Part of intelligence is being able to discern when one is accepting pain vs.being trapped in it (or even, at times, luxuriating in it). Yes rM, a really important distinction I feel. Sometimes the story is about wanting to get out of pain but unconsciously luxuriating in it, ie taking self-indulgen...

Re: Food For Thought

Mind was just asking this same question over here, just yesterday! But it went like this, "Oh with all the changes and new learning you have to do for your job coming up soon. How are you going to do this with out "me" leading the way!" Then, came the knowing that mind is but a reflection of what I...

Re: Food For Thought

....I feel, in some way I can't articulate, that I am moving into a phase where there are no need for words, nor beliefs. There is nothing to be done about anything and verbal output only obstificates this fact....muddles the simplicity of this truth. I feel I'm moving into a place where I realize ...

Re: I did the wrong thing.

Hi Bgx. Welcome to the forum. From what I can make out of what you have related, It sounds like you were in 'your natural state' and were 'creating joy', ie beautiful and loving thoughts and feelings, and you and your family were experiencing these. And then you 'dropped' those thoughts and 'created...

Re: Telling Others Your Emotional Concerns ?

Experiencing an emotional disturbance (an emotion), shows you that you think you are in some situation. Any situation is a situation in thought only. Both the you that is thought to be situated and the location that you think you are in are thoughts. Eg try relating what you are and where you are wi...

Re: First- and second-order awareness

Very good E2B. First class. Thank you. No argument with anything you have said in your latest post here. E2B wrote: From the perspective of I AM itself, it is one experience in its own mind, Yes, and Tod could say this too. I could think all of experience to be for me alone, for my benefit only - ju...

Re: First- and second-order awareness

Not essentially disagreeing with anything you have said below E2B. Just adding another perspective for my own clarification. I'll explain what I meant in that quote above in case anyone was confused by it. Realizing the I AM, is Self Realization as I see it. But, in my opinion, is merely one step. E...

Thanks Dij. Yes, the struggle with words. Know it well.
