Re: How do I not care about what others think?
this is something i struggle with. I found that as long as you're in the thinking realm, you will always care what other people think. The only true solution is that which Tolle points to.

Isn't the "Witnessing Presence" another thought?
thought can only recognize thought. So the "Witnessing Presence" that is aware of thinking is itself another thought is it not?
Is the following statement the truth? Truth knows only Truth and knows nothing of thought

Re: Krishnamurti
This is why Eckhart places great emphasis on innerbody. If you tune in to the energy movement of anger without labeling it, truly seeing the energy movement for what it is, then you will experience what the observer is the observed is all about. Let's say anger comes up. The "observed" is the energy...

Re: Why self-inquiry is powerful now as opposed to before
Hi Ashley72.. here's a quote from Lester Levenson from the book "Keys to the Ultimate Freedom" .. "I held the question 'What am I?' until the answer presented itself. And this went on and in a matter of three month's time I believe I saw the entire picture, I went all the way.." You can check it out...

Re: Why self-inquiry is powerful now as opposed to before
Prior to these particular questions, I used "The Work" constantly. In fact, I still use "The Work" when something really heavy takes hold. As far as the "What am I?" inquiry, I've been doing this for about one month now, very dedicated. I find that if I don't do this inquiry, by default the old natu...

Why self-inquiry is powerful now as opposed to before
"To whom does that thought rise? To me. What am I?" I used these questions before but didn't get anywhere. Now, these questions are extremely powerful. The huge difference between now and then is this: losing all confidence in the mind. With confidence in the mind, it's very easy to get captured aga...

Re: Music of "the other side"?
I wanna run, I want to hide I wanna tear down the walls That hold me inside I wanna reach out And touch the flame Where the streets have no name I want to feel, sunlight on my face I see the dust cloud disappear Without a trace I want to take shelter From the poison rain Where the streets have no na...

Re: question about John 3:16
i'm don't know much about the Jesus story, but it seems that people from back in the day wanted to make him out to be some god we worship. But is that what Jesus himself would have wanted? the quote also says "one and only son..." are we not all sons and daughters of God? This 3:16 quote implies tha...

question about John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" Does this mean that we worship Jesus as a god? It just seems to have more meaning to me if it goes something like this: "... that whoever believes in Christ-Consciousne...

when I stopped resisting, that blockage within released... and it caused spasms and muscles to contract. It also led to a new type of headache never experienced before. I'm guessing that my personal experiences are what some would refer to as kundalini

Re: Eckhart on Loneliness?
Funny I was just listening to Realizing the Power of Now, the very last track in the program and he hit on this subject: "suffering does not arise from loneliness but from the fear of loneliness... that's a mental projection that says, 'you are going to be alone for the rest of your life.' And it's ...

Thoughts of ending life after waking up, not before
When I was totally mind-identified, I never thought of actually ending my life. There definitely was a lot of pain and suffering, but the thought never crossed my mind of ending life. After waking up and seeing the mind for the illusion that it is, resistance starting dwindling. I'm more at one, mor...

Re: Tony Robbins vs. Tolle. Might go with Tony now.
Very interesting. If you have the time, check out Tony Robbin's TED talk and interview with Larry King. You'll clearly see that Tony Robbins has a scripted routine. Furthermore, if you're bored and have the time, check out Tony Robbin's interview on The Hour.. he's a big-time guru and yet he's sweat...
