Re: Physical pain

Pain (physical and mental) has been my doorway to liberation. It burns up ego quickly if its fully accepted. There are yogis in India that raises their left arm for 30 years just to speed up the process. Tolle talks alot about it in different retreats (Touching the Eternal (India Retreat) has always...

Re: Can anyone offer some advice?

I have been through similar experiences (lost of love ones and identifications) and I agree with kicki. This is an enormous opportunity for spiritual growth. Just rest in to the pain and it will turn into something else.

Sounds like kundalini (not your pain body). Its normal, happens to me all the time. Long walks helps me to ground the energi.

Re: missing that gigantic energy

Good stuff chopper. Spiritual addiction is a huge hindrance. I think what you are describing is a very common experience. Initially, upon practicing mindfullness, there is an undeniable euphoria. In part I believe this is due to the thrill of having found a new philosophy, a new take on life, and th...

Re: I feel ripped-off, and I'm mad at Eckhar Tolle

I know what you are going through. I am not saying that Tolles teaching has caused this. The anxiety and fear has been their all the time but is more likely to surface when you relax the grip of ego. With no observing presence you condition is likely to continue since you are adding new layers of fe...

I wouldn’t recommend stop practising presence now, its your only way out of this condition. See if you can welcome the anxiety and the physical sensations. Do that and it will lose its energy and transmute itself into joy and aliveness.

Re: I feel ripped-off, and I'm mad at Eckhar Tolle

I kind of agree with you. I have a similary story, tough childhood, discovered Tolle and felt relaxed and peaceful for the first time in my life. Then, after a year with peace, the panic and dread hit me big time. I suffered terrible and it took me over 1 year with intense CBT (which is the best way...

Re: I feel so lost and depressed

I have been in many depressions and struggling with the same kind of thoughts as you. Facing my old negative emotions has been my spiritual practise for the last couple of years. Believe me, it’s a passing phenomena and they are the doorway to bliss. When you are in a depression, its very tempting f...

Re: Happiness from within v.s Happiness from outside

In my experience this is a process. I did not feel blissful and joyful the first two years of being present (actually, the opposite was the case). I had to repeat the state of no mind many times over a long period of time before those feelings of happiness arouse. Be persistent and patient in your p...

Constant realization of my own inevitable Death

I have been contemplating the issue of death after meditating the last year and I have becoming more and more aware of my own inevitable death. And, I tell you, its peacful when it really hits that you are actually not going to be around for that much time. This realization really cuts through all t...

Re: I don't know what to do

Presence and surrendering it not about being inactive or lazy. That’s ego. If action is possible take action. Trusting life will not get you out of difficult life situations. Life is not here to make you happy, its here to present challenges and wake you up.

Has anyone experienced something similar to this?
Yes, you will have some openings and then some closings. The trick is not get too attached to the openings.

Re: Chronic Physical Pain

Tolle speaks about surrendering to pain in some of his retreats. I recommend Touching the Eternal and The Journey Into Yourself and listening to them as much as possible. You will found some space around the pain. His voice has helped me through some painful times. Pain can be a great spiritual teac...

Re: Feelings of dread

It very tempting for the mind to come up with all kinds of explaination why you having this dread or anxiety. I feel fear because: I have so much to do. I feel fear because: My life situation is not stable. And so on. There is simple the condition of dread and the mind often misinterpret it. Its not...

Re: Anxiety when present

Hi everyone! Its been 14 months since I wrote the post and I am feeling quite normal again. My suffering have been intense and I have lost my career, my girlfriend and a couple of my “friends” during the process. But it has actually been worth it. I am now having this strange but beautiful electroma...
