Teachers teaching.

Why would a teacher teach? If you think about it, none of them have reached any sort of "destination". If they had, why would they be here at all? I don't know if there's some sort of "final step" for an individual. I don't think there is. When the final step comes, everything will take that step to...

Re: Is Eckhart FULLY realized?

Wow. That was a lot of "me/not me" for someone who has experienced "no I".

Re: Is Eckhart FULLY realized?

What does any of this matter? What does it matter if someone answers to their name? If what someone says strikes a spark in you, does it matter whose mouth it came out of? Everything that comes before you comes from the same place. Whether it comes from Tolle, your dry cleaner or the crazy man on th...

Re: Who is your favorite spiritual teacher?

Jiddu Krishnamurti. Very basic in the video with children- Google videos: "It doesn't matter if you die for it" - and, in other places, explains the problem with "methods" and explains meditation, both what it is and what it isn't. Apparently, he understood that he was early - that most of those he ...

Excellent: J. Krishnamurti speaking to a group of children in India, 1984.

Re: No Problems in the Now

If there are no problems in the now, then what if in the now, this very moment you had a knife sticking in your chest? Is that OK, is that not a problem. I guess in 5 minutes it might be because you die, but right now it is OK? I think it would be difficult, if not impossible, to stick a knife in t...

Re: What about self-confidence???

Hi, I failed on two exams. Afterwards, my self-confidence was really messed up. I recently started to Use Tolles principles, will that improve my self-confidence? I feel more confident if I am saying to myself "I can if I want to". But will that just increase ego??? Not fearing an outcome or worryi...

Re: Poor Man's Intuition

a friend told me about "Many Lives, Many Masters." just curious, I thought that the ego was an illusion, totally false. but the idea of reincarnation seems to go against that. if ego truly is false, then why would the ego/personality manifest in a new lifetime? Perhaps the question is "Is this life...

Wow! There are a lot of videos!

Just discovered google videos! Cool! There's one that has clips of Tolle and J. Krishnamurti kind of back and forth speaking on the same subjects - but one is the subject of "meditation" [Tolle on guided meditation: "I had to call it something." LOL!] so some may want to skip that one. ;)

Re: How does having goals fit in with tolle's teachings?

Here is a direct quote of Tolle's related to this "Also make sure your goal is not focused on having this or that, such as a mansion by the sea, your own company, or ten million dollars in the bank. An enlarged image of yourself or a vision of yourself having this or that are all static goals and t...
