Re: Should I Read The Fall by Steve Taylor?

Thanks, you guys.

Yes, I read parts of the excerpts at Amazon, which *did* look dry. However, the reviews seem glowing.

Hmmmmm.........

Should I Read The Fall by Steve Taylor?

Will this help me understand Genesis?

Have your read it? How did you like it?

Any other comments or thoughts?

I agree with Lucy. You remind me of student99 on the Oprah ANE Boards. :)

Well, you guys, he *was* close to Deepak!

What great quotations, kiki and all.

Thank you, James, for your kind reply. I will watch that video. :-)

Re: Michael Jackson

But I did feel a release through the tears, and then a peace and clarity. So it seems this all part of the human experience, the drama, the emotions, the appearance of good and bad, the hypnotic quality of human thinking. Although I have found that by knowing my true nature, I am no longer frighten...

Re: Tiredness Affects Presence

Yes, Andy, that's it!

I have been thinking about this, and I realized it may sound more clear to say, "There is tiredness in me." Take out the "I am" statement. Kind of like: "There is anger in me."

Thanks.

Re: Tiredness Affects Presence

Yeah, I know what you mean, RC, but I am trying to understand kiki's post, too. I understand feeling tired- so far- as it affecting my body more than my spirit. My body feels limited in this way. *Although,* I have caught myself feeling tired, mind buzzing, and I have a moment where I think, "I am b...

Re: Relating with Others

Awakening does change life fundamentally--that's the whole point. It doesn't take courage--I was not a courageous person, indeed I was full of fear. All the "courageous" things happened later, when I was no longer afraid, so I can't call that courage. It does not take humility--this person who star...

Re: Changing careers due to Tolle's influence?

Hi, Meg! I've not changed careers, but Tolle helped me immensely in my "career" as a mother. Before I was pregnant, I was quite anxious from time to time about how I would keep up the momentum of getting my teaching certificate, the excitement of getting to teach, and getting a job with having a bab...

Re: Awakening and Children

What would it be like if half of humanity was awakened?
Now, there's a thought of the future I can't help but revel in. A future now, that is.....well said, karmarider!

HL, you captured my feelings on children exactly!

You should see my son experience wind! Oh, the joy!

Re: Isn't Enlightenment Really Just a Brain Trick?

Oh, my RC, it's like we're on the same path. :) (Of course, we all are.) For some reason, your posts stand out at me. The vibe I get from your posts, the Catholic background, and now the thoughts on the brain all feel very familiar. (Does this happen to others on the board? You relate to certain peo...

Re: My parents........

Hi, Karolina! Since awakening with A New Earth last year, I seemed to push and pull with my mother's painbody and ego. My father was looking for peace. My evolution was easier for him. In fact, he seemed quite excited when I cautiously talked about some of my inspiration. However, it's been differen...

Re: Marrige of Wisdoms

Well, I've been digging some shallow wells then. :) I am constantly back and forth between Catholic books, books on Goddess, Eckhart's works, and anywhere in between. Suffice it to say, I read more than I meditate, but I can also honestly say that my daily life is filled with far more presence than ...

Re: Eckhart TV

Do you have to sign up for the Eckhart TV to find out what it costs? I couldn't find a price. I wonder if Eckhart was feeling tired the day he taped that introduction. I see him as just accepting that he was tired but still following through with his commitments, unlike me when I last experienced di...

Re: Is This It?

Well, I don't know if it's it, but it sounds like it. I'm glad for you, Charles. I enjoy background presence and lovely moments of pure presence throughout my day with my toddler. If that's anywhere near the peace you felt, oh, I just love hearing about it. I feel peace just hearing about yours! :)
