Here's a couple of thoughts,
What are you avoiding by smoking cigars and drinking alcohol?
And how specifically are they enjoyable when they are so detrimental to your health?
I have asked these questions of myself btw.
Have fun,
Jeff

Re: Using being "enlightened" to get success, sex, etc.
The more "enlightened" I become the more I want to experience EVERYTHING. What is it to be human? To experience EVERY emotion.
Have fun,
Jeff

Re: Jed McKenna is Adyashanti...
Here's my $.02 IMHO Jed is Adya. Way too similar not to be. However it doesn't matter either way. I listened to Adya for a couple of years before I found Jed. I kept getting close but never fully "got" Adya. Then I read "Damndest" and "got" his explanation of "enlightenment". I have since read the o...

Re: Please help me
Riken,
For me, Jed McKenna is the most brutally honest about "spirituality" and "enlightenment".
IMHO, the two most important questions are:
1.) Who or what am I?
2.) What is ABSOLUTELY TRUE?
Anything else is bullshit.
Good luck

Thanks and I'm not sure what or how it happened, I have realized "I CREATE my own experience" and can manipulate it however I see fit.Blenderhead wrote:I'm very glad you found a way to deal with this, Highlife. Good luck with everything I wish you from Denmark

Re: I recently awoke... :-)
Perhaps what “highlife” is referring to is the occasional excruciating pain at the point just before the transformation; sometimes the ego death feels as an anticipated physical death. Otherwise, after the merge, what is there left to identify with the pain in that sense?… and in a way that seems t...

... so I hope you die soon. already did... almost did it for real... Highlife--could you (and any others) please provide more details on why this is a painful, violent experience? For me, its the opposite. Mind created life is painful and full of suffering, but transcending that (i.e., realizing my...

I sent this to Jed McKenna a few days ago... ------------------------------------------------------------ Your book almost killed me. Seriously. I debated with myself whether to write you or not. Guess now you know the outcome. A little back story, I had been for years reading/listening to Tolle, Ad...

Re: My consciousness creates my world
Hello All, Sometimes I have an insight that all around me including the place I live, people, animals, my girlfriend and even the food I eat are a creation of my own consciousness (or soul), so my mind and body can go through the life experiences I need to become more aware. And that is also true f...

Edit: Thanks Ananda for finding this thread for me... :D Hi folks, I looked here for a while for a previous thread on spirituality in movies but couldn't find it so I'll post a new topic... I recently re-watched "Total Recall" starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and (although I didn't remember the acting...
