Re: Coming off meds

You too Nutkins. I too found Seroxat a real help to the point that I became somewhat reliant on it. I've since discovered that daily meditation gives similar benefits, hence the gradual withdrawal. I recommend reading Full Catastrophy Living by Jon Kabat-Zinn. It covers similar ground to Eckhart Tol...

Re: Coming off meds

I have been taking Seroxat (20mg) for years. I am currently withdrawing very slowly. I feel much less anxious since discovering meditation and reading the PON but I wouldn't withdraw just because a book told me too.

Re: True Surrender vs. False Surrender

This is one of the best posts I've ever read on t'internet and it struck a chord with me. I've always been an anxious person but when I read the PON it helped me to relax and shed most of my anxiety. I thought I was cured, I told my partner that I'd finally found the TOOL to BEAT my anxiety, but in ...

Re: Confusion

Hi Gunn When your mind is racing just accept it and calmly watch the thoughts come and go. You are judging and analysing your thoughts, and that is just a form of resistance. May I suggest re-reading the PON? I too experienced a shift after reading it, then returned to my old unconcious ways. I've s...

I have no problem with elevators, glass or otherwise. I use one several times a day.

Perhaps celebrating the 13th of May 2010 might have a therapeutic effect ?
Sorry, I don't understand.

Re: Fear of Flying

Hello everyone It's been a while since I visited this forum, but I thought I'd give you an update. First things first...I didn't get on the plane. Also recently, I had to take a two hour train journey but had a panic attack and got off before it left the station. Whilst I'm still able to live a 'nor...

Re: Fear of Flying

Thanks everyone, I'll give you a report post-trip!

I guess the only way to overcome fear is to surrender to it. Like the song says 'tie yourself to the mast, my friend, and the storm will end.'

Re: Fear of Flying

Thanks for the advice everyone After a lot of tears, soul-searching and indecision. And after reading lots of stuff about fear of flying (some helpful, some not so helpful!), I've decided that the best course of action is simply to get on the plane and surrender to whatever comes. I fly in approxima...

Re: Fear of Flying

Thanks WW. The problem is, my fear isn't a fear of crashing or dying in an accident. It genuinely isn't. It's a fear of being trapped somewhere (ie on a plane) from which I can't escape or make my way home.

Fear of Flying

Hi all The PON has been a great help to me, and my anxiety has reduced significantly. However, I'm due to take a 7 hour flight next week and I'm absolutely terrified! Although I know ultimately that the answers lie within me, rather than without, I'd still be interested in any advice or reassurance,...

Re: Fear of Fear

This seems like as good a place to post this as any... Since reading the PON and getting into the idea of awakening I've felt generally more relaxed, and thought I'd found the solution to my anxiety. However, yesterday I had a panic attack, but the good thing was, I felt like I was observing the pan...

Re: My experience of Enlightenment

One of the things I've noticed is the dissolution of many of my former hang-ups. For example, I've been a voracious poster (and arguer) on numerous forums and messageboards relating to my interests (sport, music...etc) but now I just don't feel the need to comment. The will isn't there to impose my ...

Re: My experience of Enlightenment

Hi Johny Thanks for telling us of your experiences. I too have recently experienced profound change. I have experienced anxiety and panic for almost my entire life, which has caused frustration, fear and anger, made everyday living a struggle and affected my relationships. Several weeks ago I came a...
