Re: Is happiness a choice or something to aim for?
Victor Frankel also offers the fork in the road that we face at every moment if we stop and think for a moment about it and pay attention to the fork: - on the one tine, we have the "lower self" which is always there seeking its needs which is protection and safety and snugginess - on the other tine...

Re: What do we want?
Awareness simply is. It does not "do" anything. Part of consciousness (in her terminology), however, is "paying attention." We all know we can pay attention to this or to that--although many would chatter and disagree as to whether we have a choice in what we attend to. We can (or can not) pay atten...

Re: What do we want?
Keymaster you say It sounds like the mind is pretending to be the consciousness which is noticing itself. I don't know what you mean about consciousness looking at awareness. Awareness is aware. How can you be conscious of something which is not an appearing in consciousness? I had just watched an i...

Re: What do we want?
We want peace . We also tend to seek confirmation that we are on the right path - but we cannot get it, so it is wise to recognize that want and see that you confirm yourself. Peace is in us already and we know it when we see it. We know the right thing if we take the time to see it and heed what we...

Re: Where are you on the map of consciousness?
Well, it's pertinent. For afterall the original author who created the chart of consciousness was, in his book, alerting us to how different "states" or "emotions" are pinning us to some level .... so it's related if we can be seen as "responsible" for attachment to a state or emotion ... so ok. let...

Re: Where are you on the map of consciousness?
Would it be fair & accurate to say that the introduction 'resonated' at whatever 'frequency of consciousness' you were at - it met 'like energy' and could be absorbed without question? Would that be fair to say? U bet. and it was a story. I like ... story. Would it also be fair & accurate to say th...

Re: Where are you on the map of consciousness?
I just had occasion to read his book in which this chart appears. I read all but the final chapter. I loved the introduction: thought it was the best ever description of the transition. Then I found myself almost repelled (sent back, away from) the middle chapters. Why? The introduction came from in...
