Re: Grateful I can connect with awakened people :)

Welcome Roberta. You're not alone. A little isolated maybe, but not alone.

Re: Uncertainty with my individuality

But what I am still having trouble is being stuck on this resentment over why my individual ego should have to die, In the growth of consciousness and 'waking up', egos don't die necessarily. They were never really alive to start with. Rather, the beliefs that construct the ego are simply seen for ...

Re: Ramana Maharshis Who am I? I need help understanding it

"When will the realization of the Self be gained? When the world which is what-is-seen has been removed, there will be realization of the Self which is the seer." Many very good answers have been posted on a good subject. Here's my take. All worlds of form, whether this physical one,or the dream wo...

Re: Guru or no guru?

My sense is 'there is no free lunch'. But that's just me and may be true for me simply because I believe it so. We are creators after all. Maybe some get touched on the head and have had an awakening experience. I think it kind of depends on who you are, what your personality makeup is. Maybe some w...

Re: The Monster that is 'Regrets'

Here's a thought as it relates to the underlying wordsmithing of the English language. First an example of wordsmithing: take the word 'enlighten'. Break it into component parts and it becomes 'in-lighten, or to bring Light internally. Pretty simple. Another is remind, or re-mind, to focus mind on s...

Re: Who or What?

Yeah, the hippie generation and all that LSD, shrooms, pot, etc. It was certainly a watershed time. Just think, all those hippies are our age now. Makes me wonder about that guy in the mirror.

Re: The Monster that is 'Regrets'

Hello Guy. I can relate to your concerns when it comes to regrets. I know I have had them. Still do to a degree, but they're not so intense, nor so numerous, as they once were. I even think that most people, if they're lucky, all have them. My take on it is this: we come to this human experience for...

Re: Will practicing presence releieve my suffering?

If you don’t mind can you tell me when did you learn about presence/living-in-presence. It's a work in progress. Always a work in progress. For me it has come piece by piece, each adding clarity to the last. There have been more than a couple of ah-ha moments that brought consciousness expanding in...

Re: Will practicing presence releieve my suffering?

Welcome to the forum waverider . It sounds like you've got some Walter Mitty in reverse. It seems to me like you've got two primary issues. One, is the negative imaginings that you cite. The other, more problematic one, is your concern about them. The first is just thoughts. We all have thoughts - s...

Re: Who or What?

Along the lines of 'what' we are, I recently ran across and interesting, and even stunning, take on our True Nature. Of coarse we are all familiar with the reference that we are 'spirit' and/or 'consciousness', but over time these terms seem to lose some of their impact as clarifying and expansive p...

Re: The causal body

I"m not a student of Swantz so I'm speculating to a degree. It seems however, like the casual body is much like Tolle's pain body. I don't think it should be taken as something like some sort of shadowy physical body, but more like a body of knowledge - or more accurately, a body of beliefs. It is a...

Re: do we die? how do you understand it?

Webby, your 'work in progress' is brilliant, you seem (to me) to be widening your understanding to allow all the multiple awareness states to coexist without thinking one might contradict another - just yum. I smiled so big reading it :) and what a lovely thread to read, thank you all. Thanks for t...

Re: do we die? how do you understand it?

I guess what it gets down to, for me, is that I can't get my mind around the "die before you die" concept that Eckhart Tolle espouses. I totally get what you're saying here. Sometimes teachers get a bit too cryptic for their message. My take on 'die before you die' is to relinquish our attachments ...

Re: Intrusive Thoughts

Glad to hear you can feel the progress Placebo. Another helpful tool in ridding yourself of these unwanted annoyances is to laugh them off. It is a little funny when you think of the dumb things we do to ourselves with our addictive thinking. See the humor in it and you've got it beat.

Re: CANNOT cope with this fear

...i am finding it hard not to hate the life i have created for myself and its lasting impact from that trauma from 7 years ago. Change what you believe about the trauma. Change what you believe about your current life experience. It's really that simple. I don't mean to say it's easy. But there is...
