Re: What happens in meditation?

I recommend Neville Goddard. I think there is none better. Here's a good YouTube site of his lectures. Enjoy.

Here he speaks directly to the 'only begotten son' and what was meant.

Re: What happens in meditation?

Overall I am just trying to understand, though so many things in Christianity are metaphors for consciousness and there are so many parallels across religions, what do we make of those aspects of Christianity that are unique (such as I've mentioned already)? Are those things you mention really all ...

Re: What happens in meditation?

No, they really seem to see him as an individual who exists now and who watches over us. They never speak of Jesus as a metaphor or a symbol, but as a literal individual. This perplexes me because I can't figure out how to square that with Eastern spiritual beliefs, nor understand how Centering Pra...

Re: What happens in meditation?

Our church puts a lot of emphasis on the idea of a relationship with Jesus. They really see Jesus as a living individual, not a metaphor or symbol, who walks alongside and loves us. I've done a lot of walking in my life, and have yet to see Jesus walking along side me. It seems obvious that that te...

Is this awakening behavior?
What does it feel like? Is awakening not a freeing from what troubles us into a life view of appreciation? You know.

Re: Do you recomend any meditation for a complete beginner?

I recommend breathing meditations. Take slow, moderately deep, connected breaths. Closing your eyes is an option but not necessary. Focus on receptivity. Listen and observe without description, analysis or preference. Perceive all your senses in the same way. Complete receptivity without mental enga...

Re: Functioning in the material world

...I have many questions regarding how I can still stay motivated to do things in the existence while staying present, as whenever I think to do things all my mind says is that is ego why are you doing that. For example, playing sports and wanting to win while enjoying the game my mind tells me how...

Re: American Politics

Sorry Newman. Politics is not allowed in this forum. It never ends well. There are plenty of places to go for such discussions. Here we focus on matters of awakening consciousness. This thread is now locked.

I subscribe to Webwandererism. It's based in a personal sense of truth where ever that may lead, while avoiding certainty as a principle so as to not get trapped in my own intellectualism and thought constructs. You might say I've had mixed results.

Re: Having difficulty living in the present

...how do tolle followers put behind them a childhood of bullying? I feel like I still hold hate about the past and saying put the past behind you is easier said than done. I suggest being pragmatic about it. If you still hold hate, you still hold judgment. Consider forgiveness. Forgive those who h...

Re: I'm Having Trouble With My Conversations

I couldn't agree more with Kiki's post. Well, maybe not the last paragraph. I can think of a ton of conversations I wish I never had in my enthusiasm. Such conversations, no matter how well intended, are usually more about us than those we would 'inspire'. As to the last paragraph in Kiki's post, he...

Re: How do I not label evil

How do we account for evil? A psycho walks into a school and kills. How do we not label this? Welcome to the forum. Maybe we can't not label, but you do get to choose the nature of that label. How would you like to experience it? Pick your label in a way that serves you best. It's been a basic ques...
