Re: What is spiritual bypassing?

Im trying to see if this is bypassing or not. If not then holy shit what a tool that is. I naturally really want to redeem myself for the mistakes I made so the last thing I wanna do is bypass this one, I wanna be someone who makes the right choices in those situations. Also what about teachers lik...

Re: How does one decide?

Alignment is not made through our thoughts, but through our feelings. Thought plays a role in gathering information, but when it comes down to choice, the best ones are made by what feels best. There is no right or wrong in our choices. There is only this or that direction and the experiences that c...

Re: What is spiritual bypassing?

How can I be sure this isn't some kinda bypassing? My take is that if it's a matter of avoidance then it may well be bypassing. If however, it's a matter of perceiving the thing or event that concerns you in a larger context, one that is inclusive of a larger spiritual nature, then it's likely not ...

Re: A Chuckle A Day Keeps The Doctor Away

And while we're at it, why do we park on a driveway, and drive on parkway? And why is live spelled backwards 'evil'? And why does changing the position of one letter in Santa, (move the 'n' to the end) spell Satan? And why are Santa's boots (his base) and his belt (his center) both black? Why does h...

Re: Why is the ego not who we are?

Why are there two? And are there more? Is any one of them more real than the other, and does it even matter? There is the desire to change, there is the desire to suffer, and there is the desire to understand why. I wonder if there is a grand, unifying point at which all of these desires meet. What...

Re: How important is to follow STRICTLY precepts ?

I don’t want not only me, but no one to suffer forever, which is what for instance Christianity and Islam teach. Religions such as these tend to take the carrot and stick approach. The stick is to instill fear rather than understanding. They also promote their own exclusivity. It helps keep the fol...

Re: Why is the ego not who we are?

Here's how I perceive it: There is experience and there is that which experiences. The 'stuff' of experience - the internal beliefs that create a context of 'me', plus the interaction with external stuff such as others and life conditions - is temporary and exists for the purpose of exploration of t...

Re: A Chuckle A Day Keeps The Doctor Away

P.S. For Non-Americans: Jeffrey Marshall Foxworthy, born September 6, 1958, is an American stand-up comedian, actor, television and radio personality, author and voice artist. And he's a lot funnier than these quotes suggest. A lot of his 'down home' humor is in the delivery. Highly recommend watch...

Re: I feel like I’m losing all my progress quickly.

Reminds me of the old saw "It's tough to remember your objective is to drain the swamp when you're up to your ass in alligators". Consider: what is your goal in your consciousness studies? What is you primary goal in life? In a vacuum it's much easier to focus on your goals, but we don't live in a v...

Re: The Paradox of Wanting Nirvana

Question. What did you mean by your last line? You are saying the ego is useful tool in dealing with others. Can you expand? Kiki sets a very high bar when it comes to ego, and does so quite lucidly. My sense is this: In order to be totally free of ego one must be free of all identifications. That'...

Thanks Cat. I can certainly relate to izniz' concerns. The crap I did in my early years... Wow. The only thing that saves me from an enormous gilt trip is viewing it from a larger perspective. I can't change it, but I can continue to learn from it, and occasionally make use of it in a variety of way...

Re: Don’t deserve to be happy?

I have spent years trying to improve myself and be a great husband and Dad , but there is so much shame in myself thst I carry from my past. Everytime I look at my kids and think how much I love them the thinker enters and reminds me of the horrible person I was and if my kids really knew me they w...
