Your dog looks like it's wondering something like that as well. :-)

I'm not sure what you mean.

I'm not sure how the story would serve as a good guide, per se. I certainly don't recommend passing out as a method of self-inquiry. :-) I put it here in the off chance someone might find it a useful pointer.

This Bloody IT-ness

Salem went to the hospital today for a routine check-up. Part of the check-up consists of getting blood drawn and tested so Salem has a better idea if all the crap he shovels into his maw is going to kill him at the grey age of 34. Salem hates blood. Especially when it is coming out of him. So, sitt...

Re: It's Simpler Than You Think

And if you are awake to your formless nature but deny the world of forms you will become stuck there, and life will seem dry. This is when nihilism can begin to show up. The world of forms is where the "juice" is. Drink in the juice while remaining aware of the formless, enjoying all of it. Kiki, j...

Re: Stephen Wingate

I considered talking to Mr. Wingate but thought the prices he was charging for a consultation where quite high. I appreciate a person needing to make a living, but high prices just for a consultation are a red flag. If a "teacher" is pointing as a living, it seems to me that's an even bigger red fla...

Re: End Depression Now

Pennee101, I think I've written this somewhere else, but I don't recall where, so I'll state it again for you. The mind is a product of the body, not an ethereal zone that you have or inhabit or see through. So, by extension, mental illness is also a physical illness, albeit more invisible than more...

Re: Do you believe that we have to "cary the cross"

I'm not sure what Jesus meant exactly, if he ever said that about a cross at all. But many people talk about the need to suffer in order for good, and religious structure can encourage people in this line of reasoning, and on some level I think it's in order to keep people in line. Even if that's pa...

Re: It's Simpler Than You Think

Seeing is timeless, but your first few times of seeing the obviousness will probably last only a few seconds, to use clock time language. But it can be like a breath of fresh air: The amount of time is far outweighed by its piercing depth and innate power as everything is not illuminated in that mom...

15 Things Needed to be Happy

The point of nonduality is not to find happiness. Nevertheless, everyone likes to be happy and this link has some good pointers to that. http://www.purposefairy.com/3308/15-things-you-should-give-up-in-order-to-be-happy/ I put off reading it because I thought it looked a little kitschy at first, but...

Re: Don't know how to express this confusion

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply. When the weekend ends, I have less time to reply. Fortunately it's Labor Day here in the Czech Republic so I have some time to write. But you've offered a description of your perception of the workings of the mind ... while what I'm interested in, for the purpos...

Re: Don't know how to express this confusion

Ashley and KM: By no means feel that you need to leave the thread, but I just thought it was getting derailed by the back-and-forth-ing back there. As I said, you both had great contributions. :-) Snowheight, to your question: The mind...Thoughts, images, sounds...I've always assumed the mind to be ...

Ashley and KM, I sincerely appreciate both of your guys' help as you both have given me excellent things to consider, but if you need to continue debating, please do it in PMs. Thanks.

Snowheight, regarding your questions on the mind, are you wanting me to post answers or just consider them?

Re: Don't know how to express this confusion

Pity you didn't have any curiosity with respect to that question ... "What is the mind?" ... it seems to me that there is a common, very deep-seated assumption at the core of your perspective, it's one that I'm intimately familiar with, and my guess is that it's endemic among young guys. It's one t...

Re: Don't know how to express this confusion

"Don't know how to express this confusion" Then turn your beam of attention around 180 degrees - "inwardly" towards your still empty centre for a moment - and hold your attention on that subtle sense of "me" which is always in the background. :D You are so right. That's the thing; I know that's wha...
