Re: Dyslexia and being present

As a dyslexic myself I think Ive experienced the same problem. A kind of mental tunnel vision making the bigger picture impossible to comprehend. I found the problem was at its worst during interviews and at assessment centres when applying for jobs after graduating. I suddenly lacked the mental agi...

Re: End Depression Now

I'm in one of my down moods now. Presence just feels like a very tempory block on the minds self flagellation. I try to accept/surrender to the issues but I just feel numb and the issues unresolved, I think I've only ever successfully surrendered once. Going to sleep and not waking up is becoming a ...

Re: The Nature of the Mind: Where is the Free Will?

IMO our mind has no free will but that does't mean its pre-determined by some creator. The minds 'Chaotic' deterministic - It's so heavily intertwined with everything else its impossible to predict. Our mind constantly learns and evaluates trying to build a picture of how everything 'is' its our exp...

Re: I Don't Understand

I can see why tricianc might find it depressing. If the mind isn't causing a problem where is the motivation to realise your true nature ? Tolle isn't about smashing the ego or stopping thinking permanently. As Adyshanti once said even enlightened people have egos, the difference is they know that i...

Re: Return of the spiritual ego!

 I agree its very annoying. One trap is feeding your own ego by noticing the ego in others; eckhart mentions this in the book. Another classic problem I get after reading too much eckart is the "quoting eckhart" trick it plays when im trying to be present. Stop giving me advice on being present...

Hello all, I have been VERY reluctant to write about this, mostly because I'm afraid of the responses I might get and how I might react to them, but I've really enjoyed reading the accounts and feedback from some others here, and wanted to add my own. I also have been afraid of things my whole life...

Re: Do you have an ebook reader?

Yes its possible but as I mentioned earlier the PDF format isn't ideal for e-readers so you might have difficulties.

Re: Do you have an ebook reader?

I am a big e-reader fan and want to support the industry despite the terrible rip-off pricing situation some of the publishers are causing ! why are we paying hard back prices for e-books that have no material cost to reproduce ? I bought the PON ebook but it came as a PDF which wasn't very good, I ...

Re: I need to unawaken

I think sighclone might be right. Are you sure its not a motivation problem? some causes: Not knowing what you're doing or having trouble getting started. A combination of lack of pressure and enthusiasm stopping you from making progress . What happens when deadlines arrive? does it get completed ba...

Re: Ego self deception

My last post wasn't articulated very well I was trying to explain the distinction between who you are and the story of who you are - I share semperadmeliors view sometimes it might feel like were individual machines but ultimately we are reality.

Re: Ego self deception

Its true we are learning machines but rather than "copying others" I think building on what we have learn't is a nicer perspective.
The important thing is to realise you are the machine and not the learn't content.

Re: Depressed - is enlightenment really possible?

I notice depressed people seem to have a very broad outlook on life. They get worked up about things that often don't really effect them but they judge it as bad and yet another reason to be miserable. My minds always been over-active and had been making me depressed but the PON has helped, heres so...

Re: Law of attraction and OCD

This Law of attractions sounds like a load of rubbish to me believing you own a £5,000000 house is not going to make the universe magically send one your way. Sorry to be a kill-joy but here's my sceptical explanation for any "evidence" that it works: Wanting to see a purple feather will likely make...

Its an interesting article It's only disproving the idea of common descent not the evolution mechanism though.

Theres a reason its called the "Theory of evolution" I guess now the theory will be tweaked to fit.

Re: The Power of WOW

Had a pretty good Now experience earlier it was snowing outside and I was feeling stressed so just looked out the window. At first it was just the normal "oh its snowing nice but I'm bored after 10 seconds" which was mind image then I started to really look. I focused totally on observing the view a...
