Re: Who Decides to Take the Leap?

"Leap" to where? One needs ego as part of the process, without "it," there is nowhere to leap. Perhaps the word "leap" is not the best word to use. Leaping implies a leaper separate from that leaped into. Perhaps a better way of expressing the process is to use the word "shed". When we shed the ill...

Re: Transforming sexual energy

Hello I've practiced presence for more than 1 year now(maybe even 2) and I start finding out a lot of compulsions in this body. A very big one is sexuality. I can feel the sexual energy in my lower abdomen and I am wondering how to give it another manifestation than the usual one. If I just stay pr...

Re: Come join me, if you will...

If you have an iPhone or any other Apple device, you can download a free app that you can program to ring a delightful bell and/or a visual reminder set for once an hour, or every 2, 4, 8 or 24hrs. I find it useful to ding hourly as a reminder to pause and come to the present (if not already there)....

Re: Beyond Thought (Awareness Itself)

Aware of Awareness... I enjoyed this video very much. My wife, a young psychiatrist who watched as well, asked me what does "aware of awareness" mean? I asked her to hold out her hand and then asked "are you aware of your hand?" She said "yes". I asked "Are you aware that you are aware of your hand?...

Hurricane Sandy and other Disasters

When I watch the news, see and hear the tales of fear and woes of the many without power, food, water, access to toilet facilities, money or fuel, and when I hear of the looting and the horrid cries and desperate demands that the government fix it all NOW, I am reminded of the ignorant bliss that wa...

Re: Fearsome Presence

Thanks Jen, Finding the bones of this story recently cast the issue of fear in a new light for me. When we talk of the "fear of life" the question is who is experiencing the fear...and why? Someone on another board said that when we give another fully Present, undivided attention...it has the affect...

Fearsome Presence

I became vividly conscious of where I was, what I was doing, aware of everything around me; aisles of bright and beautiful produce and fruit, the aroma of fresh baked bread, others busily shopping, the assortment of noises, voices, wheeling carts. It was all so clean, bright and beautiful and I had ...

Re: When do you believe or know that its good to lie?

When do you believe or know when its ok to break the precept of not lying. I say know in case someone claims enlightenment. Anyway, what about people break and entering illegally in some chicken farms and exposing the truth about chickens living in horrible conditions. If you are interested in info...

Re: The Dazzling Dark: A Non-Dual NDE

Mainstream science considers the OBE a type of hallucination that can be caused by various psychological and neurological factors . But scientists still know little about the phenomenon. The two possibilities of NDE have been put forth. Only two possibilities? I seriously doubt science will ever kn...

Re: The Dazzling Dark: A Non-Dual NDE

From the book "From Self to Self" by Leo Hartong Question: In near death experiences it is said that the soul sometimes leaves the body and sees the situation from above, noticing things that could never be seen from the bodies perspective. If there is no separate self as Advaita (non-duality) teach...

Re: How can we know there's no death

I think Joy and abundance is our heritage and we should keep that in mind and not propagate the idea and belief in poverty or victimization or that austerity is somehow 'spiritual', and prosperity is not. I agree. Matt 6:33 points exactly toward what you say. But as Tolle says, there are two ways t...

Re: How can we know there's no death

Saying I encourage just the opposite is either inaccurate or out of context I put a link in that particular post of mine you've taken exception to. Go and re-read the thread the link points to. Note the differences between the second and third (your) posts. The one before yours encourages a distanc...

I might add that if you or anyone thinks I don't appropriately represent the forum as a moderator, feel free to make an issue with the other mods and with Admin Eric. I have forgotten what we have spoken of here. Can you save me from researching and guessing and just tell me what words of mine are ...

Re: The Bible is banned on this forum?

I posted 3 comments, 2 of which had a reference to something in the Bible, and they did not get posted. Is there a general rejection or ban on the Bible in this forum? If so, I find that pretty fascinating. Eckhart quotes from the Bible quite a bit, yes? Or are we picking and choosing which parts o...
