Re: What do you think of this quote by Ramesh Balsekar

I am very interested in the noosphere as I am a fan of Teilhard de Chardan. His books are hard to understand at times though.

Re: Bob Marley

I didn't get a chance to read all the posts in this thread but I will.
I just wanted to add, a major theme of Marley's music was "fighting against isms and schisms" which is all about non labeling and not identifying.

Are our minds hurting our evolution?

Think about this, humans are different from other animals because they evolved powerful brains and minds and are able to create technology that can help us survive. As a result humans have not evolved in ways that they could have. For example, we invented eye glasses to help our vision, as a result ...

Re: Creation or Evolution?

Evolution is fact. The bible really isn't supposed to be interpreted literally, but any way. There is this guy Pierre Teilhard De Chardan. He wrote a lot about evolution in a very eckhart toleish way. Check him out.

Phantom pain

I just read something interesting about phantom pain. It described that phantom pain comes about because the brain needs to have activity. When you lose a limb and the brain gets no input from that limb the brain creates its own stimulation and input from that limb. It's pretty dysfunctional, I wond...

I'm gonna check this book out. I try to read as much Merton as I can. Trappist monks are awesome.

Coping with Double Vision

Unfortunately someone in my family suffered some head trauma and now has to live with a terrible case of double vision. It is extremely frustrating for him, almost like being in constant pain. It severely limits his abilities (cant drive, watch tv, etc) Any advice you think I can give him to deal wi...

Re: Not sure what to think re: very high prices for Tolle events

Here is my logic- Eckhart admitted on one of the Oprah web classes that he didn't care about his possessions and if anyone stole from him he wouldnt care cause the other person just wanted them more than he did. He has no attachment to it. So do you think Eckhart would mind if everyone snuck into al...

Re: Not sure what to think re: very high prices for Tolle events

True- Don't post any links to copyrighted content here, don't want to cause trouble for the forum. --Although I would argue that downloading copyrighted content is NOT the same as theft at all. but thats a whole different thread. Besides, you can only download and listen to eckhart torrents...now. A...

Re: Not sure what to think re: very high prices for Tolle events

If you think Eckhart's stuff is too expensive just use bit torrent, or public libraries.
Hell, post your eckhart mp3 links here!
The only thing you can't get for free is seeing him live, i suppose.

Moderator's Note: We don't post copyrighted stuff here, as it's the same as theft.

Re: Tolle to teach on Oprah.com

The only thing that would make these webcasts better is if Oprah wasn't in them!
She needs to talk less. But she is cool for doing this.
Oprah's new demographic: Enlightened Housewives. :!:

Re: Tolle to teach on Oprah.com

Hey Everyone, I just started listening to the the Eckhart/Oprah webcasts. I have a few questions. Am I missing out on anything by just downloading the mp3s of the past shows or is it better to watch the video live? From listening to it, it doesnt sound like i am missing much by not seeing it or expe...

Comas/ Vegetative States

Has Eckhart ever spoke about people in comas or vegetative states?
I knew someone who was in a coma for 2 weeks, and was wondering if Eckhart ever mentioned anything about what it's like to be in one?
Thanks

Crossword Puzzles

Somewhere in the Power of Now, Eckhart writes that no one has an interest in crossword puzzles, that they are just things to distract or keep your mind busy. I have loved doing crossword puzzles and Sudoku puzzles for many years. I consider myself to be genuinely interested in them. Not sure at what...
