More on Ego

Recently, a teacher observed that I had developed an adversarial relationship with ego. He brought a clarity that has been helpful. It goes beyond the topical application. I paraphrase the exchange: Teacher : So, what is ego? Student : It is form, mistakenly invested with a sense of self or awarenes...

Re: Presence and Being Busy

Do you think that it is possible to have an extremely full/busy life filled with many activities, and interactions with many kinds of people and still be present. By way of a generic reply, yes. For you, specifically, I don't know. Or does a state of presence require a significant or a certain amou...

"Going through a gateway" is metaphorical. Trying to go through one is problematic. It's like trying to stop thinking. The trying or effort itself becomes a hinderance. The metaphor points to entering your natural state, prior to association with form. There is a natural movement toward this state. ...

Experience seems to indicate that there can be the direct knowlege of a thing that is hidden from mental perception by time or distance. There are complications which you have pointed out. In addition to intuition, use the path of consecrated action. Let what is chosen arise from presence. Intuitive...

Yes, well, there is that with words. I could have said "no one, doing no thing, at no time, in no place"... which is perhaps a more accurate rendering of words but there wouldn't be much point to it.

Most of the influences around are all so materialistic... all these people who are so deeply caught up in the illusion, <snipped for space> Yes-I feel this as well....I work in retail... this is a materilistic Hear ye, hear ye! It matters scarecely a whit's worth what you do. It is how you do it. P...

For me, the realization of oneness is a progressive one. I know oneness, which is to say I experience the state of being/oneness/emptiness (pointing >>>). With that, a level of comprehension or understanding arises. It does not, however, immediately translate into every aspect of my form life. (Neit...

I Am That Too

It is easy to look out over mountains and trees and know "I am that". It is not so easy when one looks at a pile of dung. (Of course I am speaking from personal experience here and do not wish to project.) Today, I encountered the repulsive and knew "I am that too".

Namaste! Thank you for your encouraging comments. Summer asked: "Something that I still wonder about is do we all have to go through an intensely fearful experience such as yours?" I don't think so. The fear seems to be common but there are some people who have had a full awakening experience withou...

Transformation

I am not a teacher and so I feel particularly circumspect about giving an account of my experience. At the same time, I realize the story needs to be told. No words can adequately describe any experience unless they are used as pointers and not taken as the objective. Please allow them to do that. F...
