Re: Movies Concerning Awakening

The Bicentennial Man

Just recently seen it again and I admit that I teared up. If you haven't seen this movie yet, I highly recommend seeing it. So powerful if you can see the message.

"Welcome to the human condition."

Re: planning for future appointments VS living in the presen

If it's practical planning, like meeting up with someone the next day at certain place or time, that's fine. If you're imagining who you are in a few years from now, ok that's fine too. But ET said it, don't be too identified with the future. If you want to plan for the future, then plan for it, but...

Re: Movies Concerning Awakening

Just started watching this recent movie called 'We Bought A Zoo', and already I noticed a lot of suffering some of the characters go through. But it's not a grim suffering as portrayed on-screen, more comical-like. Infact, I find myself laughing at times when I see it. Nice film so far.

Re: Movies Concerning Awakening

One of my other favorite movies is Cast Away. The film itself can be interpreted in many different ways by a lot of people. So, there are many ways of looking at it and I think a lot of them applies. To me, Cast Away is about a lot of things too - love...change...willpower...independency...companion...

Those are good ones, Kiki. Not into tattoos myself, but those would be pretty good ideas.

Re: Eckhart on Loneliness?

I have it somewhere. I just have collected so much ET videos that it would take me forever to find it. But since we are on this topic, I do remember ET saying that there is a difference between being alone and solitude. If I remember correctly - if one is in solitude, then that person is at peace wi...

Re: Movies Concerning Awakening

I wanted to share this old Goofy cartoon. ET gave an explanation of how some people are when they are behind the wheel of a car. And in a way, I think this shows some spirituality - how a person may seem so nice, but when they get into a certain situation they become someone else. http://www.youtube...

Re: My Father is an ass-hole(unconsius)

Oh wow! As I read through your post, I was immediately reminded of MY dad, who is clinically depressed. There are things you mentioned about your dad that are probably not like my dad, but still they are pretty similar. Just wanted to share this real quick that you're not the only one whose dad is l...

Re: Marshall Rosenberg

Welcome BJA. Why do you think this behavioral issue has relevance on this forum? NVC is fine, but we mostly talk about awakening, not techniques of conflict avoidance in society. I say this not to send you away or get you all huffy, BJA, just to find out why you think there is a link? I have seen a...

Re: Marshall Rosenberg

Thanks! I like what Marshall teaches. But I have a question(anyone feel free to voice yourself) - Marshall's teaching is that if people get their needs met, then it will resolve conflict. I'd like to draw out a scenario first using the father/son example, which Marshall has done before. Let's say th...

Re: Animals as spiritual teachers

They are part of nature, so in a way they can also be spiritual. Animals and insects alike are used in many teachings - butterflies, bees, tigers, cats, ducks, etc.

Marshall Rosenberg

Hello,

I am new to this forum and glad to be a member. I thought this topic would fit right in this part of the forums. Is anyone here familiar with Marshall Rosenberg and his teachings? I would like to know this first before asking my question. Thanks!
