Re: Why to trust Eckhart Tolle?

Do you believe that some things are wrong? Rape, murder, child abuse, war, etc, etc,. It may depend - what do you exactly mean by "believe"? :) From a human context it's a fairly easy argument to make that many events and conditions in life are wrong. It's just a way of speaking "I don't like this!...

Waking up, to a large extent, is the recognition of beliefs and their effect on our life experience. Primary beliefs are those that we harbor that identify us to ourselves - that define who we are.
Could you give me an example?

Re: Why to trust Eckhart Tolle?

Good question. You should doubt/question what anyone tells you. Thank you! It took me 10 years to ask it! If you feel like delving deep into thoughts, feel free to do it. Then see what happens as a result. Do you like the result ? That will help you determine whether to do it again. I delved ...

Why to trust Eckhart Tolle?

Why to trust Eckhart Tolle? How do we know that we are not deluding ourselves? How do we know that we are not lying to ourselves? How do we know that we shouldn't obey our minds (our super-ego/conscience). For example, I have an urgency to go deep into some thoughts. And maybe I should? (PS: I probab...

Re: Follow the Breadcrumb Trail of Excitement

It looks like he is talking about the law of attraction, that a person's inner state of consciousness in effect, determines their external world. The law of reflection , actually :) That might take some practice to learn to separate the voice of the ego from the voice of inner truth(wisdom). Yup, a...

Re: Sexuality

I am not necessarily against masturbation per se. Before my first ejaculation, it was fun. Then it stopped to be fun to me. I am just against any self-disempowerment and especially against influencing other people to disempower themselves. I've just shared my view about the whole subject of sexualit...

Re: Benjamin Smythe

People want to gain enlightenment. I can sense clearly a trap in such attitude. My experience is that it's not about gaining something (or even losing). It's about how are you willing to act at the current moment. Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head....

Re: Sexuality

I think most people, even the most spiritual (and especially those who deny it), enjoy a good wank every now and then. No harm. I also think disembodied Jesus forgot or is glossing over this little detail of incarnation. Well...are most people happy with their life? The human body has certain messy...
