Re: Hello wise family

A daily meditation practice and self-enquiry helped. Also Robert Adams' book Silence of the Heart. There are many different teachings so whatever path you feel drawn to is the right one for you, I'm sure. Suggest if you cannot feel your painbody just notice what you can actually feel. Observing sens...

Re: Hello wise family

Hi flowisfreedom and welcome. Had a relationship with a narcissistic individual and experienced pain and heartbreak. Eventually realised he didn't care. A lot of what he told me was lies. He did and said things just to hurt and provoke me. He didn't give much but expected a lot. Everything was about...

I find Bentinho too inconsistent so i stopped following him. I now read and listen to Robert Adams and Nisargadatta. But am thankful to him for introducing me to Advaita/Non-duality
Likewise, I now read Robert Adams' teachings. Thankful to others like Bentinho for the introduction to Advaita.

Re: Should I leave everything behind?

Where would you like to go?

I guess you can return to your family / career later, if you wish.

However you may be able to dive into depths of stillness even while participating in family and work life. The challenges you face may even help.

Robert's my favourite too.

Anyone know of a forum to discuss his teachings?

Overcoming Infatuation

Hi all, Recently I have developed an infatuation on a man who works in same building. Initially we were both flirting and it was playful. We are both single. In the last month he seems to have totally taken over my thoughts. I'm distracted and can't seem to concentrate on anything else. I keep tryin...

Difficulty finding a job

I gave up working several years ago to care for a family member. I had enough savings so I wouldn't have to work. However I now find myself back in the situation that I need to find a job. I've been applying for various jobs for months and still I haven't even got any interviews. Feelings of despair...

Re: Narcissism

Yes I do wonder sometimes if I'm deluded and maybe I just use spirituality as an excuse not to face up to my issues. Especially when I have unpleasant encounters with people. When I look at my life situation it often looks like I'm regressing instead of moving forwards. Possibly I read too many new ...

Re: Do conditions usually improve when a person is awakening

Thanks Manyana, that makes sense.

For the past 2 years I've been meditating on letting go of control and surrendering to life. Since then life seems to have become much more challenging. Perhaps this is what needs to be experienced? It feels like there is a lot of resistance inside me.

Do conditions usually improve when a person is awakening?

I remember Eckhart speaking in a video about how life conditions usually improve when a person is awakening. In the last few months my situation seems to have become more difficult. Most days I deal with feelings of struggle and stress and not being able to cope. I do wonder if somehow I went wrong,...

Re: Feeling trapped

Thanks for all the responses. Its impossible to have an honest conversation with him because he is usually drunk. If he's not drunk he is too irritable to talk to. I agreed to live with him because i have no income. I became an unpaid carer and couldnt pay the rent on my apartment. So i moved in wit...
