Re: Everything is NOT unfolding as it should

This world is not an illusion, and the philosphies that say it is are half-baked truths. In an authentic mystical experience, the world does disappear and reveal itself as the dance of the divine consciousness. But then it reappears, and you see that everything you are looking at is God, and everyt...

Re: Romance and the Ego

I am a little surprised that this hasn't been talked about. That if one truly loves or cares for another, one can willingly let go of another. It doesnt even need to be romantic love, but mere respect as individuals. There needs to be no attachment at all throughout monogamous relationships. Like y...

Re: Rejection was too painful, then i just wanted fun and se

At the moment i'm honestly not pursuing any goal, with men i mean. I'm not really interested in relationship, i find a "single" life much more funny and full of interests... But anyway my point is: is it that bad in men's eyes to act like that?? I was so young and inexpert at that time.....Do they ...

Re: Romance and the Ego

I'm beginning to agree that although I do believe there is a lot of ego involved with romance and I'm not entirely sold on monogamy, I do think that relationships (romantic ones) can really bring one INTO presence. I'm seeing this now with the person I'm involved with. We're going on four dates now...

Re: Romance and the Ego

I believe sex is all about procreation and we are greatly rewarded by hormones and chemicals to induce states of ecstasy for mating and creating the next generation. Our biology is also programmed to encourage us to swap mates after a couple of years or so to improve the gene pool. The upshot of al...

Re: Romance and the Ego

My view of relationships in general is that they are mainly based on egoic needs and we as humans have confused sex and procreation with love, I don't even think it is a demonstration of love. I remember one of Ram Dass's teachers saying to him "what is all this interest in rubbing two bodies togeth...

Re: John Sherman - Just One Look

JS talks about the underlying fear but I don't know the difference. My experience is that before the "looking" I had an ever present fear which would feed into any space between my thoughts, so for instance, as I said in another thread, I would wake up in the early hours and immediately fearful and...

Re: John Sherman - Just One Look

I don't know about that. But I think that if the looking does away with the fear, then when I'm doing the looking correctly, fear goes away for as long as I'm in the correct looking mode. Outside of it is the fertile land of fears. I guess like most practices we all have differing experiences, and ...

Re: John Sherman - Just One Look

My understanding of the Sherman method is that the "Looking" removes the underlying fear of life which was created by the trauma of birth. Day to day fears will continue to occur as these are part of our survival system and essential to avoid threats to our safety. My experience is just that, the un...

Re: John Sherman - Just One Look

I have found myself looking more frequently lately, and noticed that all my fears of life have subsided. I used to wake up in the early hours and fearful thoughts would start to spin around in my mind, this no longer happens and I simply doze and fall asleep again in peace. The crux of the process f...

Re: Romance and the Ego

Would love to hear other's takes on this as I feel it's an interesting subject matter. Yes romance is an interesting subject and my take is, firstly imo it’s mainly a humanised version of animal mating/procreation and sex is the underlying drive. The other desires we have for a partner/mate are lon...

Yes I agree the music of Ennio Morricone is very inspiring, and classical in nature, particularly the Yo-Yo Ma interpretations here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLNCl45d ... C7EB7B03D7

Re: How did your interactions transitioned and changed after

I have noticed a change as well, particularly as it pertains to a relationship with someone whom, for some time, I would interact with on a consistent basis. Through going inward, I have become sensitive to this individual’s ego, and pain-body when it arises. It is very dense. So much so, that late...
