Re: ego and shamed child is there a difference

I like your notions of peeling off the layers of the onion, sometimes I tip this ^ notion upside down though, sometimes its more about what we 'unlearn'. I like that, all the armour and walls and conditioned interpretations need to be unlearnt to get to the essence of who we are. I think shame is a...

Re: Subject-ivity

Oh and rachMiel, I live in Perth where Peter from that peterspearls article lives, I think hes in Melbourne now though but I have been to his house years ago with a group randomly and they played some Eckhart Tolle. I thought that was quite amazing that you in New York came across him and posted som...

Re: Subject-ivity

Okay, we'll see how this goes  Even consciousness, awareness, experiencer, seer or even human being are just mental labels. Maybe not mental labels, maybe pointers? To truth that cant be understood with words or text alone, that cant be measured. We are limited as humans in that we cant nail t...

Re: How do I make peace with being single?

Hi just read the original post and had some thoughts come to mind. I have felt like this, and what has helped me through the thinking and getting down on myself about this, is I suppose putting up with myself for one, then finding people who listen to me and not judge or give advice, just listen and...

Re: ego and shamed child is there a difference

I think wholeness as a human being is something to be learnt. Have been researching shame and had some interesting discoveries. What do you suggest? Will the looking-at-oneself reveal that who I pretend to be isn't real, and that that which will be found out isn't real either? so there's no need for...

Re: ego and shamed child is there a difference

The truth is abuse is not 'personally' anything about the victim, it's about the will or the capacity of the perpetrator. The more we make it about the victim the more helpless and violated the victim will feel, the victim has no 'power' in the situation and the more we condition a person to believ...

ego and shamed child is there a difference

I thought Id get some opinions on this. An ego, pain body or whatever you like to call it, can be watched, as thoughts floating around, and let be, not believed or identified with. What I am trying to figure out is, for an emotionally abused and shamed child, these thoughts and feelings appear very ...

Was thinking...

Was thinking today, the present moment is new, keeps you safe doesn't it. Lately my days have become a drag, my mind always thinking forward to the next thing I have to do, and starting to stress about the amount of work I have to get done in the day. Its been a recurring way of endeavouring the day...

cheers chippy, makes a lot of sense.
Started going to a group last year and Eckhart, Deepak chopra and others are discussed, and diedrek wolsak from the choose again centre in Canada. All great stuff.

Has anyone listened to Vernon Howard and if so, what did you think??

Re: Awakening

The Heart of Relationship Awakening to the truth of perfect Unity, means to awaken from the dream of a personal self and personal others to the realization that there is no other. Many spiritual seekers have had glimpses of the absolute unity of all existence, but few are capable of or willing to l...

Re: a foot on either side

Thanks rideforever. This low energy feeling I have described has been going for about 4 days now, coming out of it but have noticed I have been feeling fearful and not at peace, even sitting at home not comfortable, like I feel I need to do something, have been thinking is this all just a stage of g...

a foot on either side

Hi guys, am new to the site and extremely interested in conversing. Sometimes I feel like jekhl and hyde. You know what I mean? This exploration that we do, I find so interesting but this is not what my family does, or is it in my 'apparent role' something I should be doing. Are you with me? My role...
