Re: Difficulty with moral grey area

Yes of course the angry religious zealot lacks acceptance as does the majority of activists. Many activists have very heavy pain bodies and their 'cause' is just a porthole for their pain body. They can be very troubled and angry people and toxic to be around. Patrick This reminds me of Richard Roh...

Does the ego actually have free will

This has been something that has bothered me, in seeing that some people seem to have more will power than others. At least on the cognitive level, it does not seem like we choose what we want, or can just will ourselves to be a certain way. Like with mental illness, people cannot just snap out of i...

Re: Difficulty with moral grey area

I have noticed this week that much of the difficulty with moral grey area is the way the true self I find can become negotiable. I guess the best way I would describe it as the clash between moral pragmatism and moral idealism. With moral pragmatism, I find that people can be too compromising of the...

Re: Difficulty with moral grey area

I think part of the difficulty in acceptance is feeling that it is equivalent to defeat. In this respect, saying yes to the present as it takes form feels like saying no to how we wish things were. It feels like your surrendering yourself to an indifferent outside world that doesnt give a care about...

Difficulty with moral grey area

I have begun to realize that I have a hard time with any form of moral fluidity. For the most part, I see things mostly being grey area, and tend to view very little being black and white. Now when it comes to morality, I tend to see things in a very black and white clear cut way. If there is grey a...

Re: How can I be free from the Collective Ego

I had an interesting insight. I find that for myself I get angry when confronted with collective forms of judgment. I think the underlying cause is a fear of shame. In my head, I have the story that goes that the collective ego is wrong, and I have no reason to let them shame me. So I dont know if I...

Is there any need to judge the Ego?

I find in myself the tendency to try and justify why my ego is right or try to find ways to fault the ego. However I wonder if this is really necessary, or if it just gives the ego more power.

Re: Senex and Puer Aeternus and Utopian thinking

I have found that this is a universal crisis, between enjoying life vs. preserving life. I dont know how much of this is just the problem of dualistic thinking,

Senex and Puer Aeternus and Utopian thinking

This concept was codified by Carl Jung as two archetypes with each being the others shadow. Basically the senex is symbolized as a wise old man who is disciplined, responsible, ordered, rational and controlled. The Puer Aeternus is symbolized as an adolescence who has difficulties with limitations a...

Philosophical Skepticism as refutation of rationalism

Since from the Epistemic level, for every explanation, there is a possible alternative. Then there is no way of knowing that what you know is accurate. Every answer to a question always has the possibility of a question and so on ad infinitum. When it comes to possible alternatives, the materialist ...

What can I do with my own self deprecating shadow

I would best describe this as the misanthropic tendencies that sees people having no inherent dignity unless they conform to arbitrary rules. Frankly I hate the tendency in myself and have up until a few weeks ago never acknowledged it within. However, I notice that I hate when people display those ...

Re: How can I be free from the Collective Ego

I dont know if others have had a similar experience, but I have noticed maybe the super-ego within is this harsh critic that is always telling me that I deserve when something bad happens to me, or if someone criticizes, wrongs or controls me is a deserved punishment. Then I noticed today I read a s...

Annoyance with conscientious people

I have found that I had started becoming annoyed with conscientious people the more conscientious I became myself. Even if I can value it in myself, I like it less when I see it in others. Yet I am not sure why concientiousness would even be a bad thing to begin with. I know that people can do bad t...
