Re: Mahasamadhi-intentionally dying by leaving the body

Just like when people take psychedelics and speak with divine beings of another dimension, it may all point towards presence and enlightenment but are not and can never be presence, awareness, or enlightenment since these are all merely states coming and going... It's difficult to understand your p...

Re: Mahasamadhi-intentionally dying by leaving the body

At the end of the day, we still don't know anything... I don't think you can speak for 'we'. To a large extent 'we' are all in this alone (al-one) and each of us must find our own way. You are certainly welcome to your opinion, but don't assume it's shared universally. Ah ok I see. So then OBEs and...

The best way I can describe enlightenment

It is absolutley nothing new whatsoever. Instead it is all too familiar, it is pure freshness as if you just took a shower. It is just an aliveness, that's it. You know it because you've had it nearly 24/7 as a kid. It is absolutely nothing new. So for anyone looking for enlightenment, do not look f...

Re: Mahasamadhi-intentionally dying by leaving the body

In large part I agree with you Nyseto. I see much of this as ritual rather than substance. But ritual has purpose for many in that it helps make a connection between thought/belief and spirit. Some need that ritual because they don't trust their own connection. There are also all kinds of emotional...

Re: Mahasamadhi-intentionally dying by leaving the body

I here what you're saying but the end of the day...isn't all of that just a set of beliefs as well? There is being present and then there's all these beliefs that there are numerous stages and that you may or may not be reborn, etc. What does any of that have to do with just being happy in the momen...

Mahasamadhi-intentionally dying by leaving the body

Why is it that when you listen to Eckhart talk about enlightenment, he uses very basic words that are far from woo woo talk yet in India they talk about states of samadhi and mahasamadhi in particular where you intentionally leave the body because you are already realized? This guy Sadhguru mentions...

Re: A more simple understanding of awareness/presence

Another great post, Nyseto. Presence is here now, and now is the only "place"/time reality can exist and it's always now. Not being noticed doesn't mean it isn't here. That pesky noisy "me" that's looking for it only gets in the way of its realization. If you/ego are looking for something it's assu...

Re: A more simple understanding of awareness/presence

It's crazy because every intention and action coming out of ego is to transcend itself. All it ever wants in the end is to not be separate when separation already DOESN'T exist, it is all imagined. That is the whole insanity behind it. Every unconscious moment involving anger, impatience, greed, etc...

A more simple understanding of awareness/presence

I'm surprised to be posting this but I just had to because of what I noticed in my own experience which led to a much better understanding of what this forum is all about-so this may be of help for some. The more simple things are kept in terms of spirituality, the easier it is to understand. These ...

Re: religious beliefs

Beliefs are created when one forgets that they are pure awareness.

Re: Present but no bliss

I finally got a solid understanding of being present these past few days after these past few years. Being present is to be a nobody, to be a zero. Just this free consciousness witnessing this experience which is also made up of itself. There truly is nothing to do or choice to be made in life. Life...

Re: Present but no bliss

You know it is funny you mention to laugh at them because it naturally just happened as I kept staying present. I've been told this same thing before and I would try laughing them off on purpose only to feel like a fool. It has to be a genuine laugh which was what happened to me earlier. Then I knew...

Re: Present but no bliss

I realized what was going on is a lot like what someone else here mentioned where I'll be present for a good while and then my mind would pull me back out of it with some negative thoughts. "This is flat, a few beers would make me feel more at peace." Ans the funny thing is, this only happens when I...
