We came from the universe but we also made the universe

I was having this conversation with someone and they were looking at me as if I’m crazy and telling me that the world is still there whether you are dead or alive. While that is true, the world is also just a chemical reaction in our brains. Everything we see, everything we perceive, is all a percep...

Why political and religious conversations bring conflict

I notice this at my job. Co workers will randomly start talking about politics or religion and then before you know it, everyone is an expert. Those two topics are very identity driven. I am conservative, I am liberal, I believe in god, I believe in myself, I worship my foot, etc. etc. The moment yo...

Re: Is presence basically the opposite of anxiety?

EXACTLY. With the stress and fear you mentioned as part of a survival mechanism makes sense. We would be dead without it. But even then, that type of stress if if you think about it (no pun intended), is purely on a fight or flight level so it’s a lot more visceral than psychological. There can’t re...

Is presence basically the opposite of anxiety?

I’ve also heard that all emotions boil down to two: love and fear. So therefore presence must be everything that’s not rooted in fear, the opposite of anxiety. Does that also mean that presence is relaxation in and of itself? Witnessing, surrender, letting go...are all relaxation? It’s just that ter...

Consciousness is just pure knowing right?

I was thinking about something and how it may relate to consciousness but I don't know if it's right. When I was younger and in school, my English teacher always used to say that I can't define a word by including it in its own definition. Instead we use different words to define what a particular w...

Presence is living as if you don't exist right?

Just making sure about all of this, but awareness is just seeing but there's no one there seeing right? 100% impersonal, just a nobody.

Re: No-mind...stillness working through you without your eff

It is literally the opposite of fear. The opposite of fear is trust. Trusting in life is the same as acceptance/surrender, which is the same as unconditional love. Which is not the same as faith, as faith is literally belief without evidence. Trust conversely requires no belief. SOMEHOW there's sti...

No-mind...stillness working through you without your effort?

When you are in the state of no mind, does that mean that stillness/being/divine is working through you divine as words and actions? Whenever I find myself being present, I find that my words and actions come out of nowhere and there is no reason why. It's as if the divine is me and I am the divine....

Happened out of nowhere, I was extremely present last night

The last time I remember feeling like that was when I was 7. I can now describe it as just, "Innocence". When I say I was extremely present I am saying I was so present that I was the present moment itself. Now I finally understand what it means to be present. At first I thought that it was a state ...

Enlightenment bliss vs chemical bliss (drugs)

So in the past I experimented with certain ego-destroying drugs that brought on euphoria/bliss one couldn't imagine. Of course I also suffered from an addiction which put me in a downward spiral of depression which lasted a while. The good news is that I have been completely sober almost two years n...

Boatloads of anxiety while meditating?

Is it normal to have extreme anxiety when meditating? It literally feels like I am dying seeing thought after thought come to an end into absolutely nothing. Recently my meditation has been penetrating a lot deeper meaning that I no longer have as much mental noise going on but I have the visceral f...

Does anyone else here feel like a god when they're present?

So anytime I am really present, I feel like I have this penetrating focus and confidence goes through the roof. I begin to be very charismatic and say all sorts of stupid shit that people would rather listen to because there is soul behind it. This may sound funny but the way I learned about being p...

Re: Being aware of innerbody or breath..something you "do"?

I'm finally starting to understand the knack of it. It is like a pure, raw, knowing. The only problem is when I know that I know and that's when mind identification happens. I have an analogy for this. Mind is like a glass of beer filled up to the brim and as you're walking around thinking, you are ...

Re: Being aware of innerbody or breath..something you "do"?

I tried it, there is just nothing. Just isness. Is awareness like observing without an observer? I'm usually afraid of heights and I was walking among some rails downtown about 100 feet off the ground like I didn't care, it was weird. It feels like being a nobody just floating along.
