Re: Having difficulty living in the present

I then rationally thought "Wait, I AM home. I'm in my house, in my bedroom...I certainly do not want to go back home where I grew up...what does this mean?" I then realized it meant the true home I came from, and will go back to. Hi AliArtist, Here is a video by Mooji I think you might like: https:...

Re: Functioning in the material world

The problem arises from the emotional investment we generate in achieving it - or not. Just like one can see it wrong to want to win, one can see it wrong to lose or to fail in their efforts. Again that's the ego element that mucks up the works. So true! Wanting to win at sports, earn money, get go...

Re: What Determines Value?

Interestingly, I posted a thread in another forum recently: "What matters?" To you, those around you, plants, animals, Earth. It seems like for a lot of people, after doing the spiritual thing for a long enough time, the question "Okay, but what really matters?" arises. It's a biggie. I'd say... Lo...

Re: What Determines Value?

I wonder that that self-sense may be the greatest gift from Source. To me it's the ultimate miracle: the individual in the totality, the totality in the individual. A dynamic identity of apparent opposites. Or something like that ... I agree! :D To me, the "self-sense" is kinda like a magical mask ...

Re: Senex and Puer Aeternus and Utopian thinking

Are Buddhas moderation and Aristotles Golden means accomodate both/and thinking? In my opinion, yes and no. :D Yes, in that the experience of both extremes/polar opposites is necessary in order to find and experience the balanced "middle ground" between them. No, in that the experience of both extr...

Re: Senex and Puer Aeternus and Utopian thinking

Interesting :) I also found this quote interesting: "Shakyamuni’s life exemplifies a basic interpretation of the Middle Way as the path between two extremes, close to Aristotle’s idea of the “golden mean” whereby “every virtue is a mean between two extremes, each of which is a vice." However, I'm happy to report that I've been cleared to reduce my medications and have done so with no side effects or relapse. So, this action figure/apparent person is in remission.
Good to hear! :)
