Re: Empathy in support groups

If I now see the illusory nature of much of my own pain regarding my narrative, which leads to seeing the illusory nature of pain in others, what is my role in this support group? Your role is to be compassionate vs. empathetic. (And you don't have to try to do this... Compassion arises naturally o...

Re: Don’t deserve to be happy?

Just putting this out there for others to hear was a freeing experience. I’ve kept all thses feelings bottled up for a long time. Yes, it's very freeing. :D I think it's because Ego always wants to keep suffering/pain/guilt hidden and highly personal. It survives by feeding off the idea, "This is M...

Re: Don’t deserve to be happy?

Be Present and forgive yourself. (Or, more accurately: Be present and see/feel/realize the forgiveness and unconditional love that naturally arises from Presence.) You were unconscious in the past. You couldn't have acted differently at that time. Don't make an identity for yourself out of your past...

Re: Creating a superior ego

However, I have a question, seeing that all living human beings must have an ego, is it okay to work on transitioning from an inferior to a superior ego? Do you think that so long as I keep from identifying myself intensely with the new ego, that this can be a healthy thing? Here's an Eckhart video...

Re: Is presence basically the opposite of anxiety?

I’ve also heard that all emotions boil down to two: love and fear. So therefore presence must be everything that’s not rooted in fear, the opposite of anxiety. Does that also mean that presence is relaxation in and of itself? Witnessing, surrender, letting go...are all relaxation? The way I see it:...

Have you studied traditional Advaita too?
No, I haven't. I've only watched a lot of Rupert Spira videos (along with Mooji and Eckhart videos  ).

I haven't read anything by Sri Atmananda, Greg Goode, Jean Klein, or Francis Lucille. Do you recommend any
books in particular?

Re: Literally always 'in the now'

Interesting radio clip! :D For me, it raises the questions: is he always "in the Now" as Presence? ... Or is his mind just trapped "in the now", as in "the present moment in time"... (and he's still identified with that sliver of mind/time)? These questions came to me after watching this Mooji video...

Re: Focus on one thing or everything?

To focus completely on one thing requires you to be still, alert, and relaxed (i.e. present).... You can't be caught up in the mind-stream and focus completely on one thing. To focus completely on everything that is happening now (which is really only one , continuous happening appearing to be many,...
