Re: attention to thought and gone thoughts

Hello Moniquedepique. Welcome to the forum. Thank you. You are right it's not about what thoughts can tell you. I also agree that the vanishing of thought altogether is not a problem , but maybe I didn't aks it right. On page 15 in The Power of Now, the question at hand is: What exactly do you mean...

Re: Watching thoughts

When it happens, I feel no gap or space between myself and those thoughts.
What do you expect how that will be like?

attention to thought and gone thoughts

When I get absorbed in thinking, every now and then something pops into my mind. It is: "Oh yeah, I'm supposed to observe my thinking." It's something that Eckhart recommends, it's part of the teaching. Everytime I observe my thinking I notice more often than not that they are completely gone. How a...

Re: Staying present while someone is being unconscious

@Webwanderer, Thank you for your elaboration. I understand what you mean and yes, that is quite something you mention. The ability to compare the density (when thinking about my neighbour) with space, does already imply the ability for space to arise when 'thinking' about my neighbour. @Turiya, I've...

Re: Staying present while someone is being unconscious

The only fair thing I can say about a situation like this, is the reminder that I haven't reached enlightenment yet. May I suggest that 'enlightenment' is more verb than noun. I agree. I can't say much about your experience with your neighbor, I realize that I did not provide you with accurate info...

Re: Monique from Holland says hello

I fully agree, except for the fact that doing this is no commonplace. Thank you, maybe I'll do that.

Re: Staying present while someone is being unconscious

I have a similar situation. I have a very... unconscious ... neighbour. He is someone that picks a fight with me, my other neighbour and my other neighbour. I find it completely impossible to have a conversation with him. Everything he does, seems to have the objective to overthrow other people. He ...

Re: Monique from Holland says hello

Thank you. I'm already digging. There are subjects that touch what I would like to talk about, but replying on a 2 year old topic? Nevertheless, it's interesting and I like what I read so far. It seems there are people here that really take Eckhart's teachings at heart.

Monique from Holland says hello

Hello everybody, My name is Monique and I'm from Holland. I like to believe that my English if fine, but I keep making mistakes at times - mostly phonetic. A few years ago I bought the Power of Now in a second hand store. Till that time I had a habit of reading books 'too fast'. I'm a reader of a lo...
