Awareness is formless. It is what is left when we drop everything else. It is the source, but is it God ? Is it the whole story ? Is there an awareness watching awareness ? Awareness is the basis for everything that exists, the foundation of all. It is 'no thing' and yet all things arise out of it....

If that be the case awareness should have some sense of creating as well as witnessing. Awareness should feel itself creating. This is a viewpoint of an ego/mind - let all shoulds fall away. When that happens see if the question remains, and then see if it really matters if the question has an answ...

And in the act of "love making" the ego disappears ! The French have a word to refer to this (I don't know what it is at the moment) which translates as 'little death.' If I had to pick one place where it originates, I would guess my heart area. Sometimes Ramana referred to Self ( what he called th...

I would equate love with beingness - it accepts all unconditionally. It makes no distinction, has no preference, can never be harmed, and always is.

Turning love into a concept/idea is when love becomes conditional and often problematic.

Beautiful post Barbara. As you wake up more to what you really are you find less reason to speak, less compulsion to interact, less need/desire to bring up old storylines. What happens happens spontaneously. There is a natural resting in the silence and stillness of the awareness that witnesses it a...

The Simplicity of Awareness - What You Really Are

You are awareness itself, and awareness is always and already here. What is awareness and why do 'I' seem to lose it? The short answers are these: awareness is what can't be further reduced, it is simplicity in the extreme, it is the reflector of everything; and, you don't ever 'lose' it. Perhaps be...

Hi Anois, Needing stillness to be aware of awareness makes me suspicious. Then it is mind related. It's realisation is conditional upon a still mind. No, you don't need stillness to be aware of awareness. You are correct in that the mind can take that idea and make realization conditional. There is ...

Good response Summer. Maybe why it seems so powerful, is just that it is so habitual. And living in a world where almost everyone else is trapped in the illusion also, makes it seem very real That's right. It has had its way for so long that it has become quite entrenched. The fact that others are a...

Hi Anois, The question I am asking is "Is the ego so powerful as to fool you into thinking that you are in a state of Being when there are no thoughts in the mind". Can it fool you into thinking that a "no thought mind" is awareness.' The ego/mind can think that it's gaining something, but that is a...

Hi Anois, I have been an enthusiastic yet reluctant traveller with a mantra meditation group. I find it relatively easy to be become still and therefore find the use of a mantra to be more of an obstacle then an aid in reaching stillness. Do you have any views on mantra meditation. Am I missing out ...

Hi anois, Are there levels of peace and joy ? No. For example some say you can go deep into meditation. Who is it that is going 'deep into meditation?' Only the ego - the ego will judge/declare one meditation deeper than another, but the ego is not real. This is the trap ego lays for itself - when a...

Hi barbara, How does knowing yourself as consciousness and awareness lead to peace and joy? The nature of consciousness/awareness is peace and joy itself. This peace and joy is unconditional, not dependent upon anything else. When there is the disidentification with ego/mind, which seeks peace and j...

Hi summer, 'What do you think kiki? Do we create our reality?' Awareness creates and is the source of everything. One of the things that arises out of awareness is ego/mind, which is what begins the perceived separation from everything else. This ficticious entity has become conditioned into believi...

Visualization Verses PON/nondualism

Hi friend, In regard to visualization and those who teach/advise it: There is nothing wrong with this, and indeed, your life situation may improve. However, these techniques will not reveal what you actually are, will not give freedom. Tolle and others who are teaching nondualism do point you to wha...

I also kept trying to picture the bouquet for flowers I bought, There really is no need to purposely visualize anything. In effect, that is not accepting 'what is' in favor of 'what could/should be', an egoic position. I must say that I was concentrating pretty hard, I hope/suppose that if I keep c...
