I dont want to quote you and argue each point. When my australian cattledog instinctively bites the ankles of other dogs it is because that kind of dog has been conditioned over time in previous generations to have this as an instinct. Yes there is always now, but I guess the best way to explain it ...

Knowing the ego as false is not enlightenment
I think there is a huge confusion going on as to what Enlightenment is. Seeing past the ego is not enlightenment. People think that when they realize the ego is an illusion that that is the enlightened state of consciousness that Eckhart is pointing to, wehn that is a nice and dandy 1st step. Eckhar...

Ok I have to interject here as someone who knows depression 1st hand and very intimately. It is very frustrating for someone using conventional language to say my mind and then have everyone here saying "There is no you to have a mind" etc etc. Of course he has a mind and we all do. And there is a s...

Right - the ego is handy for negotiating life in the form we have assumed. When it's not needed it goes away if one is awake. Without it I'd never turn around if someone were to call my name. I have a common mind projection where I am explaining ego and true self to a crowd and I visualize myself s...

I was watching Integral operating system 1.0 and Ken Wilbers teaching seems incedibly mind based. Its like the minds attempt to disect consciousness. I feel the same way about Andrew Cohen the founder of "What is Enlightenment" magazine. I think once you really know what Eckhart is trying to say you...

You gotta understand that people arent morons. Well, yes we are, but I noticed wherever there are hordes of people following there is at least some truth to it. Many gurus get followings like this because amidst some bizarre ideas are grains of profound truth. I agree that "the reactive mind" is the...

Ya its funny how if we all vocalized our mind projections wed probably be viewed as just as insane. But I guess we have enough oil in the lamp to see it where as the other person was completely unconscious and could not. I can tell you guys about a little experience I had I don't know how it will be...

Self Knowledge and everyday interaction
Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has a problem with little conventional things since the knowledge of your true self. When I made myself a myspace page theres a section there called "about me" and I feel totally flabbergasted as to what to say. Even if I describe things that I like to do and etc t...

Depression
Depression causes a contracted negative energy charge within that energizes your thought pattern which perpetuates it. You might notice that while you feel extremely depressed you arent having thoughts of saving the world, or winning the lottery imagining how great that would be. These thoughts wont...

Re: The gong-o-matic
I invented a homemade mindfullness timer that really comes in handy. Heres what I did. I got an mp3 recording program and I recorded a gong sound followed by a 1 minute interval of silence. Then I put that track on repeat and every minute I hear a gong sound to remind me to stay present. You can ch...
