This is one area I struggle with: truly understanding what it means to observe. I understand the definition as a thought pattern, but it is very rare that I actually feel it. I HAVE felt it though, so I can easily tell the difference. The problem is it is a state that seems to find me far more than...

I had an experience last week that reminds me of your post Heidi. I decided to go cloudwatching and for a moment I glimpsed the eternal presence and oneness, it's as though the sky merged with my spirit and I felt one with all. Followed by the realization there is no "I". That experience defines for...

#3 - Mind tantrums. You ignore it long enough and it literally throws a hissy fit. It's the usual thought stuff, but it just gets louder and louder and louder, until it is like a screaming baby or a teenager who turns their music up after their mother tells them to turn it down. Tolle mentions bein...

I think his work is extremly interesting and illuminating, I have "one taste"as well as "no boundry", and my favorite so far "The Simple Feeling of Being". He goes into vast detail about our true nature and his book Spectrum of Consciousness is very detailed and somewhat difficult for me anyway to u...

The witnessing presence or the observer if you wish is you . The pain body it's emotions and the hunger you mention is actually reasons to keep the energy going. The reason you don't have emotions in the witness (actually there is no separation but for the sake of explaing this we'll say there are t...

Ken Wilber knew Ramana Maharshi and quotes him in his books often and has praised and openly admits to learning from the great master. I see two sides of the same coin which is non-duality. Tolle enlightened uses few words and Wilber is the same only he uses many words. They drink from the same stre...

It has left me feeling lots of different emotions, especially depression. What has become painfully obvious to me is that I am very much connected to my mind. A suggestion would be to observe the mind and realize you are not that. Your experiencing the duality we all started with and conditions tha...

I just found Ken Wilbers work and he is considered by many to be the word on "consciouness" I have his intergal operating system and find him to be very masterful enlightened in an intellectual way and very present and aware. He uses many more words then Tolle but his books I've read so far share so...

Dreams are very interesting to me also. I had a dream of many noisey machines running all at the same time and then suddenly they all stopped, I saw a very high perspective and saw the machines all still and quiet continuing out towards a vast expanse. I actually had a dream in which tactile awarene...

I have the audio version of "Stillness Speaks" as well as the book.
Tolle's voice resonates stillness and peace and I catch myself not even listening but just experiencing and immersing myself in the audio.
I trust what I need to experience will come through in other than auditory ways.

The now isn't something you go into it is everpresent and does not change. The now is eternal. So yes when you study it will be in the now. Tolle doesn't suggest not learning new things in fact he encourages that, he simply means not to identify yourself as the egoic mind made fiction that isn't you...

To join this, for me it's the awareness of the reality which is- there- is no story of me , dropping that (mind made concept) allows for being to be experienced instead of thought about. Another realization which may sound overly simplistic is that it's always now and always has been my now was simp...
