One thing I've found is that when I'm fully present, I tend to blink less, and my eyes get dry. This ever happened to anybody?
Can't say thats happened to me but I would like to say welcome and enjoy your stay with us.

Tolle speaks from a place called stillness and my observation is he is interested very much in unity and merging of awareness with all things meaning duality isn't present in his teachings. He frequently mentions that language is limited in that it is incapable of defining the message. My impression...

Beautiful explanation I printed it. It's the thought/awareness paradox. There are still times for myself when it is still challenging to stay in presence and in the now. Usually at work in the heat of stress, which I handle with ease but there are still small things that evoke thought in me. I will ...

I'll take a stab at this one. We don't recognize the fact that we are not our thoughts because we indentify with thought and live in the mind. This is the world of the ego not who you actually are which never changes. My conclusion is we create an "adaptive self" that is "unhappy" and only after bec...

Dancer the tone of your posts do suggest a strong connection to trying to understand mentally what being awake and enlightened means. Awareness evolves from not thinking all that much but rather watching the thoughts from what Tolle calls the witnessing presence. From that perspective you simply wat...

Words in of themselves can’t and abysmally fail to represent feelings or give credence to consciousness born of awareness. This space, when void of thought and visuals, feels lightened in weight by freedom of illusionary attachments such as a need to even have a reality. All descriptive words to sh...

Kiki said: The paradox is realizing that one never, in fact, left home at all. Only the imaginary "me" goes forth on a path, looking for peace. The mind is very good at contructing what words look like and Kiki's observations clearly point out the illusory nature of thought as it relates to defining...

Wayne Wirs

I bought Waynes book Fading towards enlightenment. I wrote him a small note and he wrote the following: I’m glad you liked Fading Toward Enlightenment John. It is funny how seriously we take our minds isn’t it? If there is one thing meditation can do for anyone, is to teach them that they have no co...

To finally come out at the other end means an awful lot to shed, yet what we shed is all false anyway.
Well said, and to me a perfect definition of "awareness".
That wonderful realization that we are not our story.
That we awaken from that dream, is understanding our essence.

Brings to mind words by Paul Simon: In restless dreams I walked alone Narrow streets of cobblestone, 'Neath the halo of a street lamp, I turned my collar to the cold and damp When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light That split the night And touched the sound of silence. Thanks Summer f...

We are the Looking. The looking itself. Not what is looked at. Not the eyes that look. Not the person that seems to be looking. But the very looking. This looking is awareness. Profound, powerful and true. We are awareness itself. When we hear who is hearing? I am. Thought forms emerge from this aw...

Summer said: At first, what struck me about the natural state is the lack of anything personal. The "me" that has become so familiar, is nowhere to be found. Summer I too can relate, stillness and the always silent awareness. Thanks for unknowingly validating my take on it. What a beautiful, simple ...
